It seems The Big Shoe will be the fund’s first project. The budget for the film itself isn’t $150m, I haven’t seen any number for the budget, I’ll hazard a guess of $20-25 million, similar to Cosmopolis.

I think that she’ll do very well with SWA TH2. Universal is taking more time developing the story line and the script. I am sure they realize that there wsd a huge problem with the deadline for SWATH1 and the script was done hurriedly which affected the dialogues. I am so looking forward to it. As far as the “Rupert” connection, Kristen has mentioned in her interviews for OTR that she has learned to embrace her fears and learn to be stronger from them.

I’m choosing to look at what everyone else is going to look at when they see Kristen in those types of roles. Rob was only naked from the waist up, not the way KStew was fully naked in OTR, and he didn’t give simultaneous hand jobs to two guys or have a 3some in the same bed. Just shows that no matter how much sex you try to put into OTR, it was still a bomb.

Plus, Cosmopolis is an intellectual film, aimed at a small audience, it was never meant to be a blockbuster. It’s also on almost 2 dozen “Best Films of 2012″ lists, not the same for OTR. Cosmopolis is Fresh on RT, OTR is Rotten. It’s not getting a wide release because theater owners won’t book it into their theaters. The March release is only a few theaters, less than 50. It won’t make a profit, it’s not mathmatically possible.

KStew was promoting herself to get acting nominations, which she didn’t get. Producers also paid attention to how badly she behaved at Cannes, refusing to pose for the professional photographers, not paps, and booing them during the photo call.

Walter Salles chewed her out for it, and her bratty behavior got them disinvited from appearing on Le Grand Journal. It had been announced and then suddenly it was cancelled after she gave the paps the finger at the airport in Nice, and then was so horrendous at the photo call. The French won’t put up with that kind of jerky behavior, and the industry noticed.

No, it isn’t due for “wide” release. It will play in less than 50 theaters, that’s not wide. Anything less than 200 theaters is not wide, and even 200 theaters is considered small. And it will only play a short time, not even 3 weeks. They’re dumping it, it’s a bomb, it’s been playing worldwide since last May and it can’t find an audience. It’s Rotten and just plain boring. It’s already been dumped on VOD, they have no faith in it.

This movie has been looking for financing for years. Also when was the last time Jim Sturges ever had a hit? She’s not in danger of disappearing. She’s fine. Most artists (actors included) have peaks and valleys in their careers. For example, Marisa Tomei won Best Supporting Actress when she was a few years older than JenLaw is now. Her career has never reached that peak again but she’s had a solid acting career.

These actresses don’t see this as a competition the way you seem to. There’s room for all of them. Most serious actors/actresses are interested in their next job, not in keeping score in unimportant ways.

The Big Shoe is fully financed and has a start date. You never know what will happen, any project can be shelved at the last minute, but it seems pretty solid. No director can work on 2 films at the exact same time. The McAfee movie is in real preproduction and they also have 4 other films in development.

None of Rob’s films have been shelved, you’re out of the loop. Hold On To Me starts filming in April and Mission Blacklist also has a start date. The others are all still in preproduction, lining up to work around his schedule and the location shooting schedule. Nothing is on hold, it’s all full steam ahead.

Kristen has been a working actress from the age of eight. I have an eight-year-old-grandaughter who is beautiful, vivacious and charming and people keep suggesting we should get her into acting. No. She’s smart, but nowhere near mature or responsible enough to hold a job. Kristen was and did. She carried adult responsibilities, making an average of two movies a year, all through her childhood and teens,and doing her schoolwork at the same time. She graduated from high school a year late, but she graduated with honors–e middle of making one of the most successful movies of all time.

She is the highest grossing action heroine and she has a Dior contract. So what she isn’t popular, at least she has respect, great filmography, is in more demand than Kristen, and has 2 Oscar nominations, a Golden Globe, and SAG.
