Kristen Stewart Joins Still Alice Movie
Kristen Stewart will appear in the film adaptation of Still Alice, a rep for the actress confirms to Gossip Cop.
The movie is set to star Julianne Moore as middle-aged professor Alice, whose life and family changes dramatically after she is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease. Stewart will have a supporting role as Alice’s youngest daughter.
The project is based on Lisa Genova’s best-selling novel of the same name, which was previously adapted into a stage play. Alec Baldwin and Kate Bosworth will also co-star, as Alice’s husband and older daughter, respectively.
Genova wrote on Twitter on Tuesday that she “couldn’t be happier” with the film’s casting. Production is reportedly set to begin in New York in March.
Still Alice, of course, won’t be Stewart’s first book-to-film adaptation, and certainly not her most famous. The actress became a movie superstar thanks to her role as Bella in the Twilight Saga, the five mega-successful flicks based on the book series by Stephenie Meyer.
Stewart’s other upcoming releases include Camp X-Ray and Clouds of Sils Maria. As Gossip Cop previously reported, it was also recently announced that she will star in Equals opposite Nicholas Hoult, who is perhaps best known these days for the X-Men movies.
