Kristen Stewart and Selena Gomez ‘Snow White’ Rumors – The Latest

For days, rumors have flown about which young actress will play the title role in Snow White and the Huntsman.

Kristen Stewart is most frequently discussed for the fairy tale role, but now Selena Gomez has become part of the speculation, thanks to certain outlets.

So where does the production actually stand?

Here’s what we know.

A source familiar with the Snow White project confirms to Gossip Cop that Stewart is “someone of interest” and currently on the studio’s list.

(Not surprising.)

As for Gomez, however, we’re told her name has not been in the mix at all, and that rumors about her auditioning for the role are inaccurate.

There have been no negotiations with anyone yet.

    So, last week she was “offered the part” & it was her choice to take it or leave it and now she is simply “some1 of interest” and one of the girls on the list? LOL! I knew it! After the backlash her potential involvement got last week, the studio is puting aside that idea! LOL!

    Noraluce, what backlash? I saw just quite a few articles supporting the choice of Kristen for the role. Quite frankly, if the film is a Disney type fairy tale, it’s not for Kristen. But if it’s an darker, more edgy story Kristen would be great. If Kristen wants it and if it would expand her career, I am rooting for her.

    well, obviously you saw the “few” articles that other Kristen fans RT’d on their twitters&LJs! You should see the other articles that hated her as a choice&above all… you should check out the backlash from infuriated people who HATE the idea of Stewart in Snow White; just read the comments on any site that posted that info, then you’ll know what backlash I’m talking about! But I agree with you, if it’s a “dark”, “edgy” Snow White she could do it, cause that;s all she can pull off, grumpy problematic teens who sink in misery! Oh wait…which real life person does this remind me….hmmm… any guesses???

    I saw several articles on several legitimate publications and websites, not on Twitter, etc. You are correct I am a fan of Kristen. I have followed her career. I don’t agree with you. For the record Kristen has many fans, admirers not just the people on Twitter, not just fans of the Twilight Saga. I am aware that she has detractors also. Every
    actor does. I have to be honest, while I have nothing against Selena Gomez, I probably would not go see the film, if she got the role. I, however, would go to see the film if Kristen were part of the project.

    Why should people be infuriated? If they don’t like it they just don’t have to go for it, but “infuriated”? Give me a break. There many films that have been cast with actors that people felt the actor/actress was not right for and then the film is a hit. Then all of a sudden every gets on the band wagon and say that person was “perfect” for the role.

    I stand by my opinion. I have the right to express it. Noraluce, if you don’t like Kristen, you you are entitled to your opinion but I anyone else do not have to agree with you. You can express the fact that you didn’t like Kristen for the role without having to insult her or any one else for that matter.

    noraluce–I don’t remember reading anything about Kristen being offered the part of Snow White, only that she was at the top of the rumor list….nothing has changed from this article. Check your information before you comment.

    Kristen Stewart would make an amazing Snow White. To be honest, I do remember reading some backlash about her taking up this role, but it was mainly coming from people who were NOT educated on the film. Unfortunately they are also not educated on the real tale of Snow White. For most sane people, we know that the Disney version is not the real version, and therefore, Kristen would be PERFECT for this darker role. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping this is the case, cuz I don’t think i’ll be seeing this film if someone else is cast in her place. Sorry.

    golddigger99: go back&read articles, many said she was offered the part&others implied the part was on her lap&stodio was waiting for her decision; obviously, that’s not the case; every1 knows it’s a darker Snow White, but they just don’t like it to be played by Stewart, cause she’s just not good enough

    Look even if a studio, production companies, etc. thought that an actor was not right for the role they would never publicly make a comment that any actor was or wasn’t “good enough”.

    Most of the negative comments that I read were from comments written in response to articles, not from the periodicals or websites themselves.

    Do you know Kristen personally to verify that she is definitely interested in the role. There has been no comment from her camp. If they don’t select her it might be because she is too close to Bella at this time, that it might be too soon after the franchise has completed filming. They might go with an unknown, just like they did with Twilight Saga, but not because of her abilities.

    She would make a great Snow White. She is a very talented young actor. If this a true opportunity for her, I truly hope that she gets the role.

    We get it, noraluce, you don’t like Kristen.

    noraluce: I’ll tell you a little secret – you are not “public”, you are just a jealous little girl or grown up woman who would like to be kristen. She is living her live and doesn’t spend all her free time trying to convice people that somebody is bad or discussing а couple she doesn’t know. You on the other hand know nothing about cinema industry, why people should mark words of nobody who you are…

    I think her PR person is doing a bad job by keeping her name out in the public this way. She should keep quiet about her roles and just prove her skills quietly instead of being shoved down our throats everyday. I also don’t agree that it’s she that turns down these roles, people don’t know how many actors/actresses go through this process, just because her name is mentioned doesn’t mean they favor her or they want her. No director in their right mind will express their true feelings about actors either.

    As much as I think she is an okay actress but I still enjoy her films, I’m starting to lose interest in her. She keeps popping up in everything. I had to cancel my mag subscription just so that I wont get annoyed. She is a seperate person from Twilight. She is a seperate person from that dude everyone wants to tie her down with. I wish her the best of luck though. Get away from the industry, they are just gonna build you up soo high just to break you down.
    Did anyone notice that her PR person is the same girl who worked for Lindsay Lohan?!? I just thought that was odd.

    I think it would be awesome if Kristen did this movie/role. It’s not your Disney Snow White, it’ll be a much darker, and different take on the story. If it’s a movie she wants to do then I hope she does! I would definitely see it w/her in it.
