If you are going to look into a camera and urge me, the viewer, to go out and support your movie, then I feel that I have the right to ask you (via an interviewer) if you are okay. After all, you don’t know me, you don’t know if I like to watch R rated movies, you don’t know if I can afford to go watch a movie in a theatre, if I have transportation to get there, if I have a babysitter to watch my kids if I do go – no, you know none of that, but you still asked me to come see your movie. Now, all I’m asking in return is for you to answer one little question. All you need to say is a simple “yes” or “no”. Hell, at this point I’ll even take a nod or shake of the head. I don’t need to know any other personal details. You need not expound on it any further. Just answer the question when it is posed to you. In America, people do this all the time. We say, “Hi. How ya doin’?” to complete strangers, and normally they say in return, “I’m okay.” It’s called common courtesy. And I promise you, it takes a lot less effort on your part to say “yes” or “no” or nod your head, than to hem and haw and not answer it. Because when you refuse to answer it, it makes people like me wonder about you: are you going to do something stupid like overdose on xanax, or choke on your own drunken vomit, or whatever you may be doing to cope with your girlfriend cheating on you. There are some people still left in the world who honestly care how other human beings feel – not because you are a celebrity – but because we’ve been through heartbreak and know how you feel. (Lainey: some of you have written to say that you don’t agree with the perceived pro-Kristen Stewart position Duana and I have taken on the cheating scandal and the subsequent cover. For analysis then on the Jodie Foster defence of her former co-star, I’ve asked my friend Lo to weigh in, as we have slightly differed on our perspectives of the situation although where Foster is concerned, I’m with Lo on this one. And Joshua Malina. Her argument is flawed. Lo is, literally, a master debater. Also a lawyer. Here’s a lawyer’s logic to Jodie Foster’s defence of Kristen Stewart.)

First things first: Apart from my interest in Good Gossip, I don’t actually “in real life” care that Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson with a married father of two or feel strongly about the situation in and of itself.  I don’t think she should be vilified. I don’t think she should be made to hide away until the world has “forgotten”. (Spoiler alert to Kristen – they’ll remember as soon as you show your face anyway, so you might as well get on with your life.) Nor do I agree with those who’d like to fashion her into some kind of feminist hero.  I won’t be posting any thoughts on the matter to YouTube, if you know what I mean. I already know it’s not my business. (Although, as Lainey’s pointed out, when Kristen I love him, I love himmed all over the place, she signalled that to some extent it was okay for the rest of us to notice.  We’re not exactly party crashers when we all got a flyer with the time and date.)

I feel the need to point out that I don’t really care about any of the people involved because so much of the commentary on the Stewart/Sanders situation has been so heavily “invested” (to put it mildly) as to render it almost meaningless.  Her fans foam at the mouth and beg us all to just please leave her alone to live her life! Wishful thinking, in that their exact brand of obsessive interest in the most minute details of her life – an interest Kristen slyly ridicules – keeps the paparazzi in business. For their part, Pattinson’s most ardent/unhinged fans want Kristen banished, or worse. Those people all cancel each other out until the rest of us are left. The casual observers. The generic smut hounds. The students of popular culture.  (Somewhat unrelated: I wish we could dispense with the “He’s so hot how could she cheat on him?!” sentiment once and for all.  If we run down the list of famous celebrity cuckolds, it’s an attractive bunch. Hot people get cheated on all the time. If physical beauty was the cure for adultery, suffice to say that Tiger Woods maybe wouldn’t have needed to go see about that diner waitress.  The real question you should be asking, if you care, is how could she cheat on someone she purports to adore?)

What I do feel strongly about, however, is the turn some of the commentary on the cheating scandal has taken. I’ve whined to Lainey and Duana about some of the things they’ve said in (mild) defence of Stewart. But it wasn’t until I read Jodie Foster’s piece for The Daily Beast yesterday morning, that I really thought we’d veered beyond the pale of logical discourse. If you haven’t already, you can read it here.

Even before I read it, I thought: Does Kristen Stewart want Mel Gibson’s champion speaking up for her? (“Is he an anti-Semite? Absolutely not.”– Jodie Foster, on Mel Gibson. Google “Mel Gibson anti-Semitic remarks” and make up your own mind. Maybe safe to say that Foster isn’t always the most objective source when it comes to the foibles of her friends.) Regardless, the same week that Pattinson has been dodging substantive discussion of the cheating or the split that ensued, and weeks after it first hit the tabloids and caused a frenzy, Jodie Foster has seen fit to come to the ferocious defence of her colleague and friend, “kid actor” Kristen Stewart.

My first “Where exactly are we going here, Jodie?” was right at the beginning of the piece, where after admitting that we all engage in some small measure of celebrity gossip, she gives us this zinger: “But we seldom consider the childhoods we unknowingly destroy in the process.”  It’s a nice bit of irony.  I can think of a couple of childhoods that may have been destroyed as a result of Kristen Stewart’s involvement with Rupert Sanders.  Unlike Foster, however, I don’t think Kristen’s childhood happens to be one of them.  I’d argue that Foster simply muddies the water by even remotely referring to Kristen as a child.  Kristen’s childhood safely ended long before the Sanders grope-fest started.  In fact, we’ve been told by many – including her co-stars and Kristen herself – that she was never much of a “little kid” even when she was a kid.  In the article, Foster herself reminisces that even at the age of 11, Kristen could only barely be cajoled to “begrudgingly” participate in a silly birthday party dance.  Kristen has said of herself  “I was glad to leave school… I couldn’t relate to kids my own age…really I have felt that I should have been an adult since I was aged about five.  I just remember when I turned 18 everyone asked me if I felt more mature, but I felt the same as I always did. Juggling work and school, and helping my mother, I’ve always had a lot of responsibility.”  And it’s not just her own perception of her emotional age. She’s been described repeatedly by fellow actors and her directors as mature beyond her years.

Until, of course, she screwed up, at which point many, including Foster, have rushed to utterly infantilize her in a maddening attempt to dismiss her behavior as a mistake typical of someone so incredibly young. It’s no better to write off Kristen’s mistake as being a result of her age as it is to shrug and say “Oh, boys will be boys” when grown-ass men cheat.  To me, Foster’s “WON’T ANYONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!?” diatribe comes out of left field where Kristen Stewart in particular is concerned.  We’re to blame for the demise of her dignity and relationship because the poor little girl is hounded so! A month ago, if you’d patted Kristen Stewart on the head and said “There there, little girl – you don’t know what you’re doing at all, do you?”, you’d probably have taken a punch.

One of Lainey’s favourites, Aaron Johnson, is like Kristen Stewart, 22 years old. He too decided to become involved with his director, also 20 years his senior, then got her pregnant (twice), married her and is raising a family which includes another man’s children. These are the decisions of an adult who acts for a living and lives in a country with a thriving obsession with celebrities.  My point is just because we think Kristen’s maybe making some crappy decisions doesn’t mean she’s not making them as an adult. We don’t do her any favours by demoting her to idiot teenager.

So she was giving in to her “momentary” (a-hem) desires, and maybe subconsciously trying to find a way out of a relationship that was past its Best Before date, so what?  Unlike Lainey, I don’t believe Stewart was forced to “bend over” to give that apology, nor do I agree that she’s being kept in hiding by the expectations of Twihards, Robstenites or the Minivan Majority.  All of that suggests that Kristen’s not making choices, and furthermore that she’s not capable of making choices. I don’t presume to know what Kristen Stewart is really like, but she certainly hasn’t come across as the kind of woman who would appreciate being dismissed as some young twit who doesn’t know any better. I say she chose to cheat, she chose to apologize profusely to her boyfriend in a very public way, and she’s choosing to lay low until she can come to terms with the ramifications of both previous choices.

Regardless of Foster’s reference to Kristen’s age, I’m not as anxious to sweep it all under the “she’s so young” rug.  When does that expire? What’s the magical age where you are held accountable for your choices? If, like me, you disagree with those who would see Kristen tarred and feathered, why not “She made a mistake people, leave her be.”? Why do we have to add “She’s only 22!”  Sure she’s only been of legal drinking age for about a year. But if we’re going to refer to arbitrary indicators like that, she’s technically been an adult able to vote and enlist for 4, and according to her, she’s actually been living and feeling like an adult for much longer than that. How many other 22 year olds are out there juggling work, school, and raising a family, or, I don’t know, leaving home for their third tour of duty?? 22 is not 16. It’s old enough. This is a mistake men and women of any and every age make. Let’s not attribute it to her age, because in so doing, we take even more away from her. (Duana are we fighting?)

Red herring of actual childhood aside, my real issue with Foster’s article is that she has somehow twisted the story into an example of “how we destroy child stars”.  She’s implicating Kristen’s childhood fame and the Hollywood machine, suggesting that either or both drove her into the arms of Rupert Sanders.

It’s a true, sad story we know all too well – child star loses his or her cuteness, “precocious” goes stale and the kid gets tossed on the heap with others who’ve outgrown their moment in the spotlight, only to spend the rest of their lives engaging in more and more outrageous and/or self-destructive behaviour trying to recapture it. This is not that.  Kristen Stewart is not Corey Haim.  She’s not some irrelevant has-been that’s been driven to a life of drugs and self-harm as a result of being discarded when she got her permanent teeth.  Foster would have us believe that we ruin the childhoods of all child actors and we’ve ruined Kristen’s childhood and possibly her life.  But she’s completely overlooking the fact that Stewart has already very handily negotiated the seemingly impossible transition from “child star” to “star”.     When does the statute of limitations expire on her child stardom being an excuse for future missteps?

I guess her argument would hold water if Kristen were hounded (she is) and then the public had arbitrarily decided to be done with her (it did not).  If, for example, Hilary Duff had crashed and burned as soon as little girls outgrew Lizzie McGuire (which, quite admirably, she did not, although she’s been punishing us with her “literature” instead.) that would fit Foster’s model.  Given her very current mega-stardom, Kristen’s recent “activity” simply can’t be chalked up to the same pattern of other child stars who’ve hit the skids once they’re sorted into the bin of “kids we don’t need anymore.”  Stewart’s already run that gauntlet and survived.  At this point, if this specific actor were to crash and burn – why would we chalk it up to “Hollywood is a monster that eats children”?  It’s a youth obsessed environment, yes. But the specific trope of child star failing to make the transition and falling into a life plagued with substance abuse just doesn’t fit Kristen Stewart.

Once you remove the “tragic child actor ending” angle all we’re left with from Foster is a tired old Hollywood cliché.  Poor me – I’m so famous. All these evil people want to take my picture and know my favourite song.  Not quite as compelling as “the destruction of childhood”.  Like many other serious actors, Foster goes on at length about the pain of having to give up your life in exchange for your art.  If she really felt that way, then maybe she and Kristen’s parents should have conspired to steer Kristen towards a career in theatre, where she could act to her heart’s content and never have had to engage in dodging the paparazzi at LAX.  Then again, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a theatre actress become the face of a designer fragrance either, so maybe the Hollywood machine isn’t that bad after all.

On the contrary, Foster’s relentless description of being famous makes it sound like something… well, something much, much worse than being famous. She refers to “the gladiator sport of celebrity culture” (Reality Check: gladiators were slaves who were forced to kill each other for the entertainment of others much more fortunate than they. Not figuratively, but actually, kill each other as a spectator sport.); “the cruelty of life lived as a moving target”; “The point is to survive, intact or not, whatever the emotional cost.”  Did I miss Jodie Foster’s tragic stint as a child soldier? She wonders whether she would have made it to healthy adulthood if she’d started her career today, “in the new era of social media and its sanctioned hunting season.”  Foster really likes equating the public’s intense interest and celebrity photography with physical harm. (You know who I bet really liked Foster’s article?  Ashley Judd. ) Sounds familiar, right? Maybe Kristen learned to equate being photographed with being raped from Jodie Foster.  I’m more than willing to consider, however, that the inevitable trauma and guilt that Foster suffered as a result of being the motive behind her stalker’s assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan when she was 19 years old, has coloured her view such that for her, intense scrutiny, whether by fans, photographers or deranged stalkers, is all equally and inextricably linked with violence and tragedy.  But one also gets the sense she’s doing a lot of projecting here.  If your fame results in getting caught cheating on your boyfriend, it’s not the same as your fame inspiring a stranger to kill the President of the United States in a bid to impress you.

For some reason though, (and maybe it was the Reagan situation) I had always perceived Foster as unassuming and humble.  I was wrong. She shows us what’s on the inside when she muses that if she hadn’t managed to “survive” Hollywood  “Sarah Tobias would never have danced before her rapists in The Accused. Clarice would never have shared the awful screaming of the lambs to Dr. Lecter.  Another actress might surely have taken my place, opened her soul to create those characters, surrendered her vulnerabilities.  But would she have survived the paparazzi peering into her windows, the online harassment, the public humiliations, without overdosing in a hotel room or sticking her face with needles until she became unrecognizable even to herself?”  I’ll be honest. Unlike Ms. Foster, I didn’t go to Yale, but at this point? She’s starting to sound like Nell to me.  Apart from delving into excessive self congratulation of her specialness, what’s the point here? None. That’s the only point: that she’s just so incredibly special that she managed to survive (when she doubts that others would) and as a result, (lucky for us!) we weren’t deprived of her amazing performances. She’s squarely placing herself in what she sees as the singular position of having been able to portray Sarah and Clarice with some vulnerability, while managing to come out of the entire hideous fame ordeal alive. In the process, she casually throws actresses who succumb to substance abuse and self-mutilation under the bus.  (Speaking of which, Hollywood Sliding Doors: Nicole Kidman was to play Kristen Stewart’s mother in Panic Room, but she had an injury that kept her from taking on the role.  Maybe if she had played the Panic Room mother, these days Kristen would have a fledgling third lip instead of constantly upturned middle fingers.)

Lainey’s written about how Kristen has damaged her “brand” in the way she’s handled this situation.  She’s supposed to be smart, honest and has gone on record as hating fake people. If Paris Hilton cheats on her boyfriend with a married man, it’s a big fat shrug (except maybe from that guy’s wife.) When self-proclaimed stickler for honesty, uber-authentic badass Kristen Stewart gets caught doing the same, I’d argue it’s a whole other ballgame.  Even more than hating cheaters, people hate hypocrites.  Much of the fascination with this story is specific to Kristen Stewart and not, as Foster would have us believe, attributable to hapless youth, the plight of the child star or Big Bad Hollywood. But, if you insist Jodie, have it your way. Kristen’s just a kid. And Mel’s just an alcoholic.

Of course they don’t owe the public a thing. I agree. But, in my opinion, as someone who’s a fan of them both, they wouldn’t have to be the subjects of so much ridiculous gossip if they simply confirmed or denied certain things. That’s not the same as talking about it. I think it would be hard for either of them to be very respected as actors in the future because they’ve become tabloid fodder, and that stems primarily from the fact that they sit back and let themselves be lied about.

I have come to Kristen defence many times but it’s not the cheating that I am willing to defend but the young woman herself. To me, the biggest indicator that they are not together or at least haven’t fully reconciled is that Rob was cool with Jon Stewart referring to Rob and Kristen’s status as a break up multiple times. It was evident that they spoke before the show since Rob seemed to know about the ice cream and said something about Jon taking it out too early.

Even if they hadn’t spoken before the show, I can’t see Rob smiling and laughing at the “kick her to the curb” comments if they had decided to reconcile. He would have at least frowned or made some kind of remark, and he just laughed and went along with it.

He’s also been having a great time in NY, going to Soho House on Tuesday night and having lots of laughter and fun. He doesn’t look like he’s pining away and he’s not sitting alone in his hotel room.

Men view things differently than women and they want respect the most. And they have their male pride. When people say things like “he may take her back because emotions are deep,” they are talking from a female perspective.

This is hilarious and exactly what has been happening here and on every site that has touched on this scandal (which is almost every website on the internet). It is time for this story to die. How many times can people re-hash the same crap OVER and OVER again? The facts are still the same. Every time the media/gossip sites post about this story they create mass arguments in the comments. Who cares people?! Commenting on whether or not you think Kristen is a guilty home-wrecker or an innocent victim is not going to change someone else’s opinion on the subject. I really doubt a person who hates Kristen is going to suddenly like her after someone writes a “heart felt” comment about her, and vise versa. This is why this first comment is so refreshing. just heard that kristen was skipping VMAs and going to the TIFF instead. I think this is the right thing to do. It seems that Rob is not ready to see her and I think (if some of what we’re read is true) that he has been resisting having any meaningful contact with her. If she had indeed tried to reach out to him and apologized over and over, I think it’s time for her to stop. He is clearly not ready and may be he won’t ever be. As hard as it will be for her, I think she has to figure out a way to move forward without him … in a lot of ways, I always felt that she grounded him and kept him from some of the foolish pitfalls of celebrity/stardom and it was she that fiercely guarded their privacy … but now, I think, we will see a new rob. In the past, I think Kristen let us see all the good things about Rob … his humor, his talent as a musician, his intelligence (the image that people love about him) … but now, I think, he will get influenced by all these so called friends (who are telling him not to forgive Kristen) dragging him out to nightclubs and with lots of flashy girls … I think he will let celebrity go to his head… I’m sure when it happens people will attribute it to the pain caused by Kristen (may be so but I think more likely just his immaturity). What Kristen did was wrong … although remains to be seen how wrong it was … I think she was forced into an uncomfortable situation by a boss and she let things get out of control. It did not seem premeditated to me. Her mistake was confusion with the situation and that she did not RUN. Anyway, I expect that she will be contrite in her next public appearance, shy and serious. I think it would be good if she apologized to her fans for causing them pain and unintentionally letting them down … and that she will never find the right words for what happened because she let herself down as well. And, when her next movie comes out, we will support her by buying 8 tickets to it and when her fragrance comes out, we will buy that as well. good luck.

I still have a feeling the whole “indiscretion” was staged or a set up or even a publicity stunt. Like they always say, good or bad, it’s all publicity… I guess only time will tell.

Gossip cop didn’t mention that the pictures showed that it happened more than once, but they HAVE said it happened more than once in actual words. I can’t remember the exact words because it was from one of the earlier articles about this whole mess, but they did say it. You can look it up.

No, Kristen arrived in her own car by herself and Rupert was already there. The paps that took the pics slipped up and told that Kristen was headed in the direction where she lives and then turned around.

There is a picture of her in the parking lot with her driving away and him in the car with her. They are leaving the studios where he works.

The pics released don’t necessary come in order and we don’t know what was shot when.

For the past couple of weeks the tabloid press has crucified actress Kristen Stewart, star of the blockbust “Twilight” movies for kissing her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director, Rupert Sanders. Stewart had been in a relationship with her “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson and fans of the series were devastated by the cheating revelation.

While news of her indiscretion might have been a legitimate one-day story for the Hollywood press when it first happened, it certainly doesn’t fit the bill as a “matter of public concern,” that deserves extensive coverage.

Not only is the media’s continued replay of Stewart’s mistake making it almost impossible for her to make up for what she’s done, it is probably placing additional stress on Sander’s marriage and continuing to embarrass his wife.

It is also making it harder for Stewart’s boyfriend to take her back without feeling the continued sting of humiliation—if deep inside he’d like to give her a second chance.

In addition to being presumptively portrayed as a ruthless home-wrecker who targeted her male prey, the extensive reporting has been completely imbalanced because it places all of the blame on Stewart and none on Sanders.

Even Stewart has expressed surprise that Sanders has been essentially given what amounts to a hall pass by the media. Reports surfaced Thursday that Stewart has told people privately that she’s upset the media isn’t at least pointing out that Sanders was “in a position of power over her,” since he was her director, and presumably someone she could work for again.

There’s a very specific reason Stewart is taking all of the heat, however, and it’s because tabloid journalism has a formula of almost always blaming ‘the other woman’ whenever a major male celebrity has an affair or commits an act of cheating.

The tabloids have done their own studies based on week-to-week sales, which reveal that since most tabloid gossip readers are middle aged, married women, who prefer to read stories that blame the other woman instead of the cheating married man. That’s because these same readers are addicted to stories that target their own fears—and the idea of a younger woman coming along and stealing their own husband one day is a big one. And after reading about how awful someone else’s life is, they can breathe a sigh of relief and say to themselves, “Well, at least MY marriage isn’t THAT bad!”

In the Stewart/Sanders story, even some mainstream media outlets have adopted the tabloid formula and blamed the actress for everything.

A recent caption on an AOL News story literally blamed Stewart for “breaking up a marriage,” while the Huffington Post interviewed so-called ‘experts’ who said she actually—get this—made a “stupid” mistake by publicly apologizing for her indiscretion, thus committing “career suicide.”
At least Stewart is trying to take responsibility for what she did, which is more than this reporter can say for most people, celebrity or not.

The tabloid media persecution of Stewart will undoubtedly leave it’s mark on the young star as the tabs have done so many times to other public figures in the past.

Tabloid persecution does more than just destroy personal relationships and break the spirits of their victims. In the end, it leaves the humiliated victim with a feeling of powerlessness despite whatever stardom they have achieved. It diminishes their legitimate talents and positive accomplishments to nothing while emphasizing a single mistake a person has made throughout their life.

As Humphrey Bogart said in the 1951 classic, ‘Deadline U.S.A.’, “That’s the press baby. The press! And there’s nothing you can do about it. Nothing!”

With the upcoming release of “Breaking Dawn 2,” the long anticipated final chapter of the ‘Twilight’ series, there is little chance that the media will let Stewart and Pattinson work this problem out on their own.

Under the First Amendment, Kristen Stewart’s love life may be fair game, but there’s something else reporters should consider when they toy with the life of a human being, and that is compassion and fair play. The continued coverage of this story may actually be changing the outcome of these people’s lives and making it worse when there could be a chance for all of them to move past this incident.

Tabloid journalists pointing the finger at a 22-year old woman for a mistake should remember that a kiss is just a kiss, and although sticks and stones may break bones, words… do permanent damage.

If you hurt when he’s hurting then that indicates more of a mental disconnect, than emotional cheating. Some people here don’t realize the difference between admiring a celebrity and having an obsession. I’m not in love with the guy, I think he seems like a nice young man, but the obsession seems to be young and old.

Eric Packer, a billionaire trader, has decided to get a haircut. So he decides to take a day to float across Manhattan in his yacht-size limo in a vortex of nightmarish traffic. Packer can’t manage to work up any interest in the fact that an unseen nemesis wants to kill him, but he breaks down in tears when he finds out his favorite rapper is dead.

Paul Giamatti plays a sinister figure with a towel over his head named Benno Levin. These are the names of two men who succeeded Giamatti’s actual father as president of Yale. And yet — coincidence? — the character name was the same in the book.

Protesters hurl rats. They cry, “A specter is haunting the world.” Doom lurks. Convergence threatens to become catastrophe. Someone gets a pie in the face.

Huh?

There is no energy to “Cosmopolis.” There is nothing resembling humanity. There is not the slightest rumor of a whiff of a hint that DeLillo or Cronenberg knows anything about finance. The climax is as dull as reading the dictionary of a language you do not speak.

It’s a movie that dares you not to like it. I accept the dare.

OMG, this article is even better than the Jodie Foster one! Thank you for posting this! This is the sort of stuff I would write if I was any good at expressing myself in words. But I’m not sure about the part saying Kristen spoke to someone about the situation. In reality it could of been another member of the Stewart family. I think Kristen’s public apology was done out of desperation for Rob to forgive her.

Sure did and obviously looked at them a lot closer than you did.

Let’s start with what I’ll call the CAR MAKE OUT SESSION photos and Fame Fly Net’s version of events.

a. How does Rupert get to the area and into the car where the car makeout session happens? Per FameFlyNet’s version, Kristen is already there in place waiting for him, the pap is watching and waiting, and has followed her there intentionally because he was “curious” as to why she is there. Remember, Kristen purportedly dropped Rupert near his house at the end of the day so if you believe that you have to wonder how did Rupert get there in the first place? Take a cab? Walk? Materialize from thin air? Irrespective of that, why would Kristen wait alone for Rupert in an rundown area of town in an abandoned warehouse area (dangerous???) for 15 minutes if she was really there all alone? And most importantly, why wasn’t Rupert’s arrival photographed. The minute anybody or any car approaches Kristen’s Mini Cooper, you would expect that that paparazzi’s shutter is going to be flying.
But yet, we don’t get one photo of his arrival or entry into the car as he “slips discreetly” into the car (See LA Times article and FameFlyNets version of events). And precious few others were taken while she was purportedly there for seemingly minutes. What kind of pap is this? Ran out film? Ran out batteries? What’s the deal with this paparazzi? Not paying attention? Can’t identify Rupert. No video camera?

And if there are other pictures or video, why is US Magazine or FameFlyNet holding them back if they have more of them. Some may argue that they are holding them back to drag out the story and make more of it and more off of it. That they will be released later. Perhaps, but it doesn’t exactly make you warm and fuzzy about their credibility does it. And the claim from PopSugar is that they have all the photos. So if they have more, cough them up. The burden of persuasion is on them. And until they do if they exist at all, based on what little they have provided thus far, it’s a little bit early to be calling someone a whore, a homewrecker, a trampire, or anything else.

b. Why were the photos released in a scrambled order and why are they incomplete? The scrambling is obvious if you look at what order they are in when they were provided. This may seem like a minor matter, but it certainly doesn’t help clarify what really happened that day. There should be many more photos and video for that matter. Yet they intentionally try to make it difficult to comprehend the sequence of events. As other have rightly pointed out, other than the version of events provided by them, how do we know whether the car makeout session happened first and the overlook second, or the other way around. (More on that in Part 3 of the Grand Punk) The mere photos themselves do not establish the sequence of events.

c. What do the photos actually show? Much has been made of what people think appears in the photos as opposed to what you actually see when you look at them. Close face to face proximity, Kristen flexing her bicep, suggestions they are kissing, but certainly nothing showing how he is “kissing all over her body” as they claim. That line in FameFlyNet’s version of events is intentionally designed to titillate people’s sexual imagination, but the photos themselves fall far short. As much as some have wanted to see oral sex happening here, you sure can’t see it in these photos unless you want to use your imagination. But is that what the evidence shows? Ever sat in the front of a mini Cooper? Not impossible but there is a reason they call it a mini. I challenge anyone to show us which photos proves that Rupert went down or Kristen or that she ever removed an item of her clothing during the entire incident, whether it be her shirt, her bra, her sweatpants, or anything else.

d. And what of the reflection in the car door? See this one for an example and look at the rest. http://www.popsugar.com/Kriste... Where is the photographer in the reflection? He has to somewhere? And irrespective of where he is in this one or in any of the others or what angle he is to the car, note how the building shown in the reflection in Kristen’s door is relatively close. This is not a high powered telephoto shot taken from great distance. There is not enough room for the photographer to stay hidden as he or she takes the photo. And yet they are not there, they simply disappear. And don’t tell me he’s on the roof of the building. The angle is wrong, and remember, he was just casually following Kristen, how does he know he needs to bring a ladder to climb buildings.

e. Following up on d. above, both Kristen and Rupert would have had to have known that the photographer was there. Unless of course he or she was invisible which we know can’t be the case. Both of them look to the camera. See PopSugar 31 and 47 where Kristen turns and looks to the camera and Rubert eyes the camera. This building reflection appears in every photo of the car makeout session provided, making it clear that all of them are from one and only one location.

e. Why no video? When so many of these cameras provide that capability or these paparazzi have easy access to a video camera. To busy taking photos? Then why aren’t there more photos of them in and around the car?

f. And finally, the entire FameFlyNet version of events is that Kristen is so into Rupert and so out of control. Yet the only photos we get of her actual face are two partials that show anything but passion, the two bicep flex photos Popsugar #4 and 52, and # 31 where she looks back in the direction of the camera with a look that would be impossible to describe as passionate.

WHAT OF THE OTHER MAKEOUT LOCATION PHOTOS BEFORE THEY REACH HOLLYWOOD OVERLOOK?

a. As much as FameFlyNet and US Magazine try to imply that Kristen and Rupert drove all over town looking for places to make out, their photos fail to establish any other location was involved in terms of them making out with each other other than at the overlook. Zilch! Zero!. Nada! Despite the original paparazzi’s call for reinforcements, no photos, no description, no video, no details, nothing as to any other place. This assertion is completely unsubstantiated. And if not, why not?

WHICH TAKES US TO THE HOLLYWOOD OVERLOOK

a. How do paparazzi now numbering four according to FameFlyNet and US, even get into a position to be able to see what they see and why don’t they see and film more? This should have been the most photographed scene in history of celebrity photags, and yet all we get is roughly 27 photos, many of them innocuous? (See PopSugar 3,8,13,23,55) We should have this incident from multiple views, videos, with virtually everything but sound, and instead we get the slop that everyone has gotten so excited about, which is a very limited slice of “reality” if it’s reality at all. If there are other pictures or video US Magazine, bring them on. But in the current absence, the burden of persuasion as to the truth of their assertions remains on US Mag & FameFlyNet. And there is nothing worse than a claim based on a partially told story.

b. In one of them, Rupert is standing sort of looking over the guardrail with a …. CELLPHONE ??? to his ear. Am I seeing things or is that what it looks like. Take a look at PopSugar #55. Did he decide to take a break from his marathon makeout sessions to make a call or two? And what about Kristen in the same photo, is she on a call as well?.

c. Another thing I noticed as an avid photographer was the remarkable clarity, depth of field, and a lack of lens distortion of any kind in the overlook photos particularly. Compare these images to what you see at the car makeout session. Long telephoto lenses, particularly super longs, when shooting from a distance tend to flatten perspective making everything that is in focus seem like it is closer to the same plane, not to mention flattened depth of field. They are also harder to hand hold (which leads to camera shake bluriness) because the angle of view of the lens is so narrow. And lens and barrel distortion as well as other design issues with even modern high tech lenses can lead to a deterioration of the image. Especially when you are zooming at the farther end of a telephoto.

Why is this important? Something tells me that this camera is a lot closer to them at the overlook than it was at the car makeout session and again too close for the photographer to evade observation. Unless of course they were posing for them and not worried about the photographer standing there.

I am not saying that the images are completely fabricated. I am here focusing on the issue of how far the photographer was from the picture’s subjects when it was taken and what that may or may not suggest about whether they knew they were there.

d. Which leads to another observation about both sets of photos. Even if you accept what some have said about what they show, is there anything about them that definitively reveals whether they were authentic or whether Kristen and Rupert merely posed for them.

e. And let get right to it. The famed dry hump pictures. Of her but with her clothes on. Rupert is able to bring her to the heights of ecstacy without even taking off her clothes. Right. Again, maybe the delusions of some guy’s wet dream but utterly lacking in believability. Which is maybe why in several photos it appears that one or the other of them is laughing.

It looks more like her acting like a porn star. Remember the plot of Cali, and Kristen’s statements about it?

Look at them PopSugar 9???, 17 Rupert looks to the camera, 19,20,21, oh how passionate. 22 with Kristen leaning over with her hair flying. 35 my personal favorite, if this is a look of passion, I have never seen one like it before. 41 another Kristen hair flying leaner with both of them laughing. 43, 44, and the final hair flyer 50. Is this passion, someone’s imagination, or a joke.

f. Again, consider the context. Everything about this so called incident is so out of character for Kristen. Broad daylight, interlude in a public place without any attempt to hide her identity? This woman is probably among the most recognizable women on planet. And the object of every paparazzi’s desire. She knows it and she knows that she is constantly being followed. Why at the overlook is Kristen so obviously identifiable when people are so-calledly all over place interrupting their interlude?

People hiking, people walking dogs. People going to SEE THE HOLLYWOOD SIGN. No one could mistake identifying her, particularly in PopSugar #8, #23, and #55, and all the rest of them for that matter. And yet she continues the conduct in open view with no attempt to hide herself despite waving around Rob’s hat so that it could be seen. And no photos of her trying to avoid detection as FameFlyNet claims or photos of hikers or dog walkers interrupting them.

It took years for the paparazzi to even catch her holding hands with Rob (Paris tarmac) and years more to catch her in a long distance, blurry full-on make out session (in Montreal during OTR) and that is virtually the only time since other than at Cannes. Is she really going to parade around LA with a married guy with children guy twice her age and dry hump him for all the world to see? Is this in any way consistent with her character? It may be consistent with some guy’s demented wetdream, or some poor porno film, but it isn’t consistent with anything else we have seen from her before.

g. Well you could say that people act out of character every day and that she was madly in lust and couldn’t control herself. But if that were the case, why not just strip in the car and have real sex. Why not go into bushes at the overlook and have real sex. Why go out at all. Why not just get a hotel. If they were both so out of control, why is the contact between them so limited. Take a really close look at the pictures again at the overlook. Suggestive perhaps, but his hands are never anywhere inappropriate in the many where you can clearly see them. Hugging, spooning while standing, close face to face contact, smiling but not even kissing. Don’t fill in what you are seeing, just look at them. They looked posed, and not very well posed at that. Remember, Hollywood is all about illusions.

h. Finally Kristen wears Rob’s favorite hat to her tryst and goes out of her way to make sure you see it multiple times. Interesting in one photo PopSugar 55, as she’s seen walking from the car to the overlook she obviously doesn’t have it, but apparently must go back to get it to get it to make sure it’s in the photos at the guardrail (See PopSugar,10,12, 14, 30, 32,40,51,54, and walking to Rupert in 55. And my personal favorites the money the US Magazine Money Shots 5 and 16. But no, the hat is missing in 8, 9, 17, 19,20,21, 22,28,35,41,43,44, and 50. I think that what they call a continuity error in the business.

And never in the entire incident at the overlook does she put it on her head to hid her identity in the entire sequence.

i. She even wears Rob’s sweatpants and uses them to let Rupert dry hump her in her clothes from the rear in broad daylight in a public place in front of the paparazzi that she obviously sees. And laughs and smiles about it for the cameras. After virtually never allowing photographers to so much as see her kissing Rob for over four years. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s pretty much human nature that when two people are into each other, and engaged in the kinds of activities that US Magazine wants us to believe happened here, they share a level of intimacy that usually includes lots of eye to eye contact. That is the essence of what we call “chemistry”, when a mere look between two people imparts a host of other information and communication between them without them even having to do or say much else. And as Kristen once said in an interview, it really is all in the eyes.
Part of what drew a lot of people into believing Rob and Kristen were the real deal in the first place was the eye contact they made over and over again at countless (not making a movie) events as their relationship developed.
Now let’s again take a look at what I have previously called the overlook makeout photos. According to FameFlyNet, Kristen & Rupert, had already previously engaged in this torrid marathon makeout session in her car at other locations that day and spent the afternoon driving around LA looking for places to make out. Yet, once they get to the overlook, find one picture where Kristen is actually making direct eye contact with Rupert. Don’t hurt yourself trying, there isn’t one. None. Nada. Not even as Kristen leaves her car and walks towards him. If you see one, tell me.
You could say that the photographers (remember four by now) somehow managed to miss that or at least failed to get a picture of that. But I have debunked that notion in earlier posts and don’t need to beat a dead horse.
The closest we get to any shared intimacy is the ridiculous dry humping photos I shredded in the last post and a couple of hugs, most where we don’t even hardly see her face and there is nary a furtive glance between them.
b. Another aspect of physical intimacy between people who are really into each other often is the need to touch each other, frequently manifested by hand holding, hand caresses, and in the extreme, intimate touching. Yet, in all of these photos at the overlook, the closest they get to an intimate touching with hands is in hugging, him with his hand on her arm pit or with hands on hands. There were plenty of opportunities (particularly during the dry hump) where Rupert could have touched her breasts, put his hand under her shirt or down her sweatpants for that matter, and yet none of that was ever photographed or provided. His hands are always in “appropriate” non-erogenous zones as are hers.
Well you could they are just both shy and retiring, but that would be ridiculous given their lengthy day time tryst, their plain view appearance at the overlook, and their purported willingness to dry hump each other in broad daylight. Just another aspect of these photos that doesn’t make sense at all.
c. Another aspect of two people who are being intimate with each other is their willingness to open themselves up and let each other invade their personal space. And I mean this quite literally. Not to be to coarse or crude about it, but to put it bluntly, it’s pretty difficult to have non-forced intercourse with a woman who fails to open her legs for you. Take a look at what Kristen’s body language says about her willingness to have Rupert between her legs. Note the rather odd configuration of Kristen’s legs in virtually all of the photos at the overlook. She is frequently turned at an angle to him or her feet are pointing in directions inconsistent with “come on in”, or appear to be planted right next to each other. Not definitive in isolation, but what does this say in relation to everything else?
d. I suppose all of this could be explained away as they had tired themselves out by that time in the day. But remember FameFly Net/US Magazine’s claim as they arrived at the overlook, after Rupert directs her where to park, and I quote:
“ By then it was 5:15 PM and the two stayed in the car, SLOUCHED DOWN AND KISSING LIKE TEENS AS NEIGHBORS HIKED BY. When it seemed quiet in the park, the two dared to leave the car to take in the view. Leaning against the guard rail, he embraced her from behind and caressed her hand and side, ‘She was swept up in the moment.’ But they kept their guard up. ‘A few people would walk by, and as soon as they heard a voice, they would split up and walk in other directions.’ When a group of people with a dog came along, the two RETREATED TO HER CAR TO KISS FOR ANOTHER 20 MINUTES before leaving’’. (internal quotes are US Magazine’s, not mine. All caps sections are mine for emphasis.)
Don’t hurt yourself trying to find the photographic or video evidence confirming these other portions of the overlook incident other than the guardrail photos. No kissing in the car as neighbors hike by, or twenty minutes of kissing in the car afterward, or of them splitting up as they kept their guard up. Nada. None. Only one of Kristen walking alone presumedly towards the guardrail PopSugar #23, leaving her car as Rupert is across the road PopSugar 8, and the cell phone calls photo PopSugar #55
e. And perhaps even more damming yet, if the photographers were secreting themselves and shooting with telephoto lens making their detection impossible, HOW COULD THEY TELL THAT “EVERYTIME THEY [Rupert and Kristen] HEARD A VOICE” they would split up….
This is FameFlyNet’s/US Magazine’s version of events, not mine. If they were close enough to hear the voices, they were too close to go undetected by Rupert and Kristen.

f. But it gets even better. Remember they claim its after 5:15 in the PM. Take a look at any of the car makeout photos which would have had to have been from earlier in the day if they are truthful. Compare PopSugar 47 and 48. The further the two of them (Kristen & Rupert) are in the car, the more they appear in the shadows. The lighting is from above, the sun, and it’s relatively high in the sky (closer to midday or so) or else the sun would illuminate further into the car and as it heads downwards towards sunset, across the car.

Now take a look at these three overlook photos ( PopSugar 8, 23, and 55) and carefully note the length of Kristen and Rupert’s shadow. 55 is probably the best, as Kristen is fully upright with a clean shadow. It’s obviously that her shadow is very short, significantly less than half her total body height. Ditto for him. Now rely on your trigonometric and astronomy knowledge, or for you math and astronomy challenged types, go to this handy little sun shadow applet at: http://www.jgiesen.de/sunshado... .

If you plug in LA’s long/lat 34N 118W, check the dst box, and note that Kristen’s height is about 65 inches (reported as 5 feet 6). Per the calculation , her shadow should be about slightly longer than her actual height at a ratio of 10 to 10.86 at 4:00 PM. Even at 3:00 PM her shadow would be at about 2/3 of her height, 10 to 6.87. And at 1:00 PM her shadow should be at somewhat less than 4/10ths of her actual height. 10 to 4.18.

Her shadow in these photographs is nowhere near equal to her height and thus could not have been taken after 4:00 PM as they claim, but was taken much closer to about 1:00 PM. This is the best evidence yet that FameFlyNet is lying about its version of events. You can lie about what happened but you can’t defy the laws of physics.

g. And not to put to fine a point it, ditto with Kristen and Rupert sharing a final kiss as she eventually drops him off near his house after the alleged incident. No photos, no video, nothing.
h. Now some have argued that the photographers are holding back, that there really are more photos and video . That doesn’t change the above conclusions, but do you really think US Magazine or FameFlyNet is not going buy or control everything that these photographers have?
Unless, of course, the photographer or photographers are actually independent contractors, free lancers that called with a story and some photos. (I will expound on the significance of this issue at in Part4 later)
And even if it is the case, that something is being held back, at least for the time being, we have to assume they probably don’t exist since no one has seen them yet.
i. Which leads us to examine another aspect. Is the foot traffic in this area ever going to quiet down enough for Kristen and Rupert to feel safe to come out into the open. After all, it’s described as a well known over look to view the Hollywood sign and downtown LA. As it is getting later in the evening according to them, you would expect more people to be coming out, not less, as it closer to being after work, it’s likely cooling off, and we are closer to the night lights of LA. I’m not an expert by any means on any of this, but I am sure there are many of you out there that are. And US Magazine fails to identify exactly where this place is other than in Hollywood.
j. Let’s next turn to what purportedly happens after the incident. Remember, the president of FameFlyNet , in an interview with the LA Times he claims that none of the photogs even realized who Rupert was until they returned to the office and took a look at the photos. It wasn’t until they pulled materials from the Snow White premier that they realized what an incredible scoop they had uncovered. I’ll leave it to you to decide how truthful you think that is.
k. Once they did however, they moved rapidly to maximize their profit and avoid anyone else discovering the secret. Quoting from the LA Times:
“Even FameFlyNet knew what an effect the Stewart-Sanders shots could have and as such decided not to shop the pictures to multiple outlets. Agency owner Cosman said the move was in part to make sure that the secret wouldn’t get out before the story broke.The hallmark of a good criminal investigation is critically examining the evidence available at the scene of the crime. From the very beginning I have wondered where the “scene”of this crime was and why FameFlyNet and US Magazine have failed to disclose it. If this really happened the way they say, why not do so? The answer is simple. They obviously didn’t care where it was, it was the pictures that they were interested in. But proceed at your own risk when you ignore the crime scene.

Let her work it out with Robert or just herself if that’s the case…… Via a Fox News Article~~ For the past couple of weeks the tabloid press has crucified actress Kristen Stewart, star of the blockbust “Twilight” movies for kissing her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director, Rupert Sanders. Stewart had been in a relationship with her “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson and fans of the series were devastated by the cheating revelation.

While news of her indiscretion might have been a legitimate one-day story for the Hollywood press when it first happened, it certainly doesn’t fit the bill as a “matter of public concern,” that deserves extensive coverage.

Not only is the media’s continued replay of Stewart’s mistake making it almost impossible for her to make up for what she’s done, it is probably placing additional stress on Sander’s marriage and continuing to embarrass his wife.

It is also making it harder for Stewart’s boyfriend to take her back without feeling the continued sting of humiliation—if deep inside he’d like to give her a second chance.

In addition to being presumptively portrayed as a ruthless home-wrecker who targeted her male prey, the extensive reporting has been completely imbalanced because it places all of the blame on Stewart and none on Sanders.

Even Stewart has expressed surprise that Sanders has been essentially given what amounts to a hall pass by the media. Reports surfaced Thursday that Stewart has told people privately that she’s upset the media isn’t at least pointing out that Sanders was “in a position of power over her,” since he was her director, and presumably someone she could work for again.

There’s a very specific reason Stewart is taking all of the heat, however, and it’s because tabloid journalism has a formula of almost always blaming ‘the other woman’ whenever a major male celebrity has an affair or commits an act of cheating.

The tabloids have done their own studies based on week-to-week sales, which reveal that since most tabloid gossip readers are middle aged, married women, who prefer to read stories that blame the other woman instead of the cheating married man. That’s because these same readers are addicted to stories that target their own fears—and the idea of a younger woman coming along and stealing their own husband one day is a big one. And after reading about how awful someone else’s life is, they can breathe a sigh of relief and say to themselves, “Well, at least MY marriage isn’t THAT bad!”

In the Stewart/Sanders story, even some mainstream media outlets have adopted the tabloid formula and blamed the actress for everything.

A recent caption on an AOL News story literally blamed Stewart for “breaking up a marriage,” while the Huffington Post interviewed so-called ‘experts’ who said she actually—get this—made a “stupid” mistake by publicly apologizing for her indiscretion, thus committing “career suicide.”
At least Stewart is trying to take responsibility for what she did, which is more than this reporter can say for most people, celebrity or not.

The tabloid media persecution of Stewart will undoubtedly leave it’s mark on the young star as the tabs have done so many times to other public figures in the past.

Tabloid persecution does more than just destroy personal relationships and break the spirits of their victims. In the end, it leaves the humiliated victim with a feeling of powerlessness despite whatever stardom they have achieved. It diminishes their legitimate talents and positive accomplishments to nothing while emphasizing a single mistake a person has made throughout their life.

As Humphrey Bogart said in the 1951 classic, ‘Deadline U.S.A.’, “That’s the press baby. The press! And there’s nothing you can do about it. Nothing!”

With the upcoming release of “Breaking Dawn 2,” the long anticipated final chapter of the ‘Twilight’ series, there is little chance that the media will let Stewart and Pattinson work this problem out on their own.

Under the First Amendment, Kristen Stewart’s love life may be fair game, but there’s something else reporters should consider when they toy with the life of a human being, and that is compassion and fair play. The continued coverage of this story may actually be changing the outcome of these people’s lives and making it worse when there could be a chance for all of them to move past this incident.

Tabloid journalists pointing the finger at a 22-year old woman for a mistake should remember that a kiss is just a kiss, and although sticks and stones may break bones, words… do permanent damage

According to the ACTUAL info from the documentary, Rob is listed as “himself”. Did you read the credits??? There were other celebs as well that did the same thing. THAT is called “participation”, those that get credit for being in the film in some way.(i.e. “ARCHIVED FOOTAGE”) They were clips used as examples and to prove a point. They were not playing scripted parts. And yes, Jackie O was the basis and main focus, but the others were used as further examples of the relentlessnes of the papps. Guess you were a bit confused?…….

Hmmm. Found something interesting. I went to the Popsugar site to look at the pictures you mentioned in your post and I couldn’t find them. Wonder if they took them down because people are finally looking closely and finding that they don’t quite match up to the story that was published by Us magazine.

I believe Robert Pattinson was quite revealing on Good Mroning America. After the weary look of the very first shot of him, and after the cereal fiasco, Geroge Stephanopoulos asked Pattinson, “Is there any way you get used to all this (pointing to the fans)”?

Robert replies, “If you’ve gotten used to it, it means you’ve gone crazy . . . it’s like being on a crazy theme park ride. It’s totally exciting but eventually you’ve got to have a break.”

Stephanopoulos quotes something Robert said the day before. “The world would be a much better place if all these bankers and billionaires were followed by paparazzi.”

To David Carr at TimesTalk:
“There’s this weird thing about accountability. I’m a private citizen. I don’t make any laws. If a bunch of people followed you around you would have them arrested.”

LA Times: “Media culture is a monstrous thing. You can’t win. The annoying thing is that you can’t attack them, but you can’t defend yourself. The best thing you could possibly do is punch a paparazzi and give them their big payday.”

Think he’s fed up?

The way to end the intrusive media frenzy is to ‘punk’ the fan – not the media, not the paparzzi, not the tabloids, but the fan. The tabloids and paps only go after them because the fans want to see and read about them.

So stage a situation depicting the one thing Kristen could possibly do wrong: cheat on Rob. This would end the love affair the fans have with the love affair. Shock, anger, denial, acceptance. I think we’re at the anger stage.

Did Kristen have the assistance of Rob, Rupert and Liberty (I’m putting the onus on her, because she’s the one in the photos and neither her nor Rupert have come out and yelled about the bogus pics)? Did she do it to grab some down time with Rob (this is certainly the romantic version, but may very well not be true)? Did she do it to shake herself once and for all of Twilight? By doing this in August, things should calm down enough for her to engage in BD2 promos.

We may never know. Good. We don’t deserve to know.

Perhaps I can be described as a “Twi-mom”? I took my kids to the Barnes and Noble midnight purchase of Breaking Dawn. I bought all the books for them. I helped them dress up for one of the movies. I sat with them and watched Twilight; I took them to see Breaking Dawn.

When the pictures were splashed over the mainstream, reporters, even on network, were yelling, “Kristen cheated on Rob!” my daughters went ballistic! The things they said about Kristen Stewart! So, I looked into the situation. And then I saw the photos.
My daughters were right. It’s very easy to get sucked into the Twilight vortex.

I never thought I would write this, but my heart breaks for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Not because Kristen may have hurt herself, not because she may have wronged him, but because, in a small way, I did.

Time to stop posting and focus on other endeavors. End the relationship with these two people. We all know there is something wrong with the situation, but if this is a desperate attempt by her or them to get the attention off their private lives, we should do them the favor and leave them alone. Go see their movies, and let that be the end of the love affair.

I always thought (or hoped) that most of the haters were very young. Because the 40+ I assume would be more mature and have actual adult experience? I mean, I’m 41, my husband had an affair, we are splitting up and he’s with the other woman. But I don’t hate Kristen Stewart. In fact I like her a lot.

I couldn’t agree more, the whole story is so weird, I wrote a comment in the Gossip Cop article that talks about kristen being addicted to red bull and cigaretts, not about the pictures- I wrote about the weird and untrue reports from gossip cop and PEOPLE mag that they never bothered to correct, how can I contact you?

How is it we can get 100+ pictures of Rob walking from a bar/restaurant to his car in NYC taking 5 minutes tops and get them from different angles while up to 4 paps follow Kristen and RS around for hours on a bright sunny afternoon in LA and we only get 50 pictures from a single angle at two different locations, despite having stopped repeatedly (so the anonymous pap says) to make out for 10-20 minutes at the time?

That Pattinson had to protect Kristen from the attacks, instead he left her alone like a 3 years old screaming: mine, mine. That’s why it is so hard to understand it is so out of character for her. That should be a wake up call to both Rob and all the fans. I believe the pics are real but for her to do this she must have been going through something emotionally. Just about everyone should realize by now that nothing more occurred than what was shown, kissing/hugging/dry humping (although I haven’t seen that pic). And for them to be laughing while they are doing so doesn’t sound like it was anything passionate like an affair. In all the pictures I’ve seen there is no passion at all. I felt this was their first time together and they acted more like friends than lovers. If they had already been lovers they would have went somewhere private where they could have sex not to a public overlook. And when he kissed her in the car it was laughable who gives their lover a peck. And why didn’t US magazine put all those pics in the magazine it doesn’t make sense. This is all so weird. Still Kristen is not a homewrecker nor a whore or tramp just a young girl who made an error in judgement which may have cost her the man she does love (and yes you can still love some one and cheat on them). since the affair I saw a lot of time the pics, read the last interviews of Rob and kris, Rob telling does not understand the cheats, kris who wants to have the experience to have her life become a shit because her life is borring, together working in a script, kris always private and to see a pic of both with PDa you can count with almost the 2 hands, so, it´s very strange that a girl like kristen, so private, one day decide to go out with Rupert and in the street in daylight they are kissing.

Stranges pics where it´s imposible to see love, passion, only a Kristen unconfortable… naive I do not… For me something smells a stage… why??? I do not know but now more days is spending more is worst for her… maybe if it´a a punk sure never they coul think all this humiliate against her… and if it´s a fake how to go out of this story??

i think the next interview of Rob in Jimmy will be decisive… it´s now or never… or maybe seeing kristen in Toronto will be the key.

I wouldn’t be surprised. There have been threats against from the beginning. I suspect that even they are stunned by the nature of the reaction to this whole thing. I know everyone else is.

Everybody hopes (or is afraid) that Robert will forgive to Kristen. But what is her wish? Did she cheat publicly on him to cut all hope on an eventual reconciliation?
Several hypotheses can be envisaged:
- 1 it is a publicity stunt (weird interview of KS about her boring life and interview of RP about fidelity few weeks before the”scandal”, more pictures of Kristen with Rupert in one day than in 3 years with Robert, the conditions of achievement of these pictures : her own car known for all paps of LA, in a LA street, in the middle of the day)
- 2 they have never formed a real couple, so KS did not cheated on Robert
- 3 she is falling in love for Rupert (in this case how to explains apologizes of Kristen?)
- 4 she wanted to take revenge for Robert to whom gutter press attributed numerous adventures (without any proof)
- 5 or she really loves Robert and made a very big (too big for forgiveness?) mistake but who does not make it?
I am against cheating but even if Kristen and Rupert had a sexual history, it is not a capital crime. Remember Angelina Jolie cheated with a married man, Brad Pitt ; Julia Robert cheated with a married man, Roman Polanski raped a 13 year-old girl and still working, Sienna Miller cheated on married men, twice… B Ghetty and Jude Law, Meg Ryan, many actors… but no one received more critics than Kristen.

Gossip press claimed that Robert had wedding projects and wanted to start a family. Perhaps this was too heavy to bear for a 22-year-old young woman who finally knew only two men in her life what makes of KS a manifestly stable and serious girl; making even more surprising her behavior with Rupert.
If the boyfriend of my own daughter had proposed her the marriage so young, I would have had the same apprehensions as Kristen maybe had. To set up family is a too important thing, to make it without being absolutely certain that it is a commitment for all the life.
This seems regrettably outside understanding of the troop of fans who swamp with insults or with advice the protagonists of this Hollywood scandal. Maybe there are too young to know the real love and the real life. Robert is not Edward and Kristen is not Bella. Anyway it is about their private life and not ours. Let us not throw our dreams and our justifiable aspiration in the big love on Robert and Kristen.
That self-claimed conjugal specialists should take care at first of their own family before giving invaluable advice while knowing nothing of the history of the couple. Things should not happen so well otherwise why K would have cheated (if it is real)? Be careful, I would on no account allow to judge Robert, but so that a couple lasts, it is necessary to be two. The efforts must be shared by each of its members.

Fans (?) must stop bullshit about KS and RP, there are many things sadder in the world than a couple (?) in crisis.
Let Robert and Kristen solve their problems if it’s their choice, and we don’t forget that if mistake is human, forgiveness is divine. Sorry for my poor english…

I was always taught to not take things at face value and to decide for myself what is right/wrong or true/false.

I guess my question really is why? What is the motive here that all of this hinges on. I think that is why so many people see/sense something isn’t right, but without the why they are unwilling to actually admit that it’s a set up/punk/whatever.

However, in one of his interviews during the Cosmopolis blitz, Rob clearly referred to being at his storage locker and wondering where his MTV awards were, confirming that he moved out of his home. Would anyone move out of their home just to perpetuate a hoax? Second, this couple has made a fortune, so the need to promote hype for money certainly is not an issue. What other reason is valid enough to place themselves in a dangerous situation, as it seems that going out in public will afford some lunatic the opportunity to hurt them or worse. Is “sweet revenge” worth it? Did they underestimate the craziness brought out by this “scandal?” The latest rumors claim that their shared home has been sold. Very drastic just to promote a hoax and too short a time to make such a major decision, put the home on the market and sell it. Last, if it is finally determined to be just a hoax, they will be crushed under negative public opinion. No matter how financially secure they are, the world is a very small place. Where would they be able to hide? There has to be more to this whole chain of events that is not evident, but your hypothesis is intriguing.

hi Liyah, read some of the posts below and check some of the other threads, there’s not that much new, a few pics of K, supposedly today, and lots of speculation about it. funny how they could snap shot after shot of every step she took and get 45 pics of her walking 2 or 3 steps to the car, but at the “scene of the crime” back in July, they were hardpressed for more photos of a full day’s “steamy” outing. They keep saying Kristen was still wearing Robert’s ring. In fact when I looked at the photo I could only see the gold band on her middle finger. That ring I spotted already on a photo back in 2008. As far as I remember Kristen once stated it was a family tradition to wear such a ring. Please correct me if I am wrong because I do not have the exact details in mind and do not want to spread incorrect information.

However, on the recent pics I am missing all the other rings she has normally worn. Hollywood life – er sorry – Hollywood lies ;-) posted a photo that was clearly recognized by commentors as old, and on that photo you can see far more rings on her fingers. One on her index finger and one on her thumb. I believe to recall that a while ago everybody claimed the index finger ring was a gift from Robert. Other than that I am missing another ring on the pics that she would wear just for the past couple of weeks. It was some kind of weird metal design ring. Can anybody remember that? There is surely a picture of it out there. Maybe she wore it at Cannes. Whatever.

Anyway, what I am trying to say is – and this is really just a vague assumption – that the gold band is very early Twilight era, maybe even before Robert; the index finger ring she has started to wear only a couple of months ago (maybe this one was Robert’s ring?). And the metal one is missing altogether.

Of course the girl is not supposed to wear all of her rings all the time. Maybe they were just special occasion rings. But what I really find important is to mention that the gold band is not necessarily Robert’s gift to her as all the tabloids are starting to claim right now.

I know that my comment here does not necessarily support the punk idea… I am aware of that but I found it important to mention. On the other side she is still wearing the black wrist band which Robert wore as well in the past years. And as it seems it is Robert’s hat.

People Kristen did not have sex with sleazeball. the indeiscrection was ony once. The photos the photographer took shows no sex took place. He was tipped off by US Weekly who were tipped off by a person who called them about the time and place. So the photographer was lying in wait. Stop with the crucifying of kristen. She did make a mistake. It seems that every Site is getting their information from each other. It is about time to let it go people. It has been 4 weeks now. None of the sites know what the truth is they’re just making up stories now. Apparently IN TOUCH Magazine is saying that this has been going on since May. also Rob asked to see kristens mobile and she told him she deleted the messages. She also told Rob she was going to a business meeting. What a load of crap. She went to the Gym for heavens sake. In May she was with Rob celebrating his birthday and then they were in Cannes together promoting their movies until June. Than they both went to a friends wedding together. The same wedding that Zac Efron went to. So where did IN TOUCH get there lies from.
Please leave her alone and stop with the name calling and everything else you are calling her. People are just jealous because she can do what she likes and she doesn’t have to ask any of you. It is her life she has earned it.
I hope she comes out of this a better and stronger person.

OMG they are all losing their minds, have been browsing the other threads and its turning into a war zone out there. Hope you have uncovered some new details that can give some clarity to the events of the past few days.

Odd how the media can review these posts and occasionally regurgitate someone’s spin, and yet I have only heard one very small reference (a while back) about a scam. I would have to think that if it is other than a hoax, and the parties involved want to come out as heroes, there is enough material on here for them to turn it around and orchestrate that type of plot even at this stage of the game. That being said, they are more than capable of having set this up and I still feel that there is quite a different agenda than what we have been being fed.

In the other threads some say the deletions started after Laney issued her recent online article about Kristen’s manager having called the papz to take the photos of her. Allegedly to test how she is being received so that they know if they can set up her career again or not.

I thought the blue dumpster was a good spot. I checked out #53 and the video of Liberty being papped and you are right, it looks as if RS is walking away from his home. This doesn’t tie in at all with the media story that we are being told.

None of the story/pictures US is peddling matches up or make sense.

If you look closely at the pictures, they’ve not been photoshopped, but very closely cropped to eliminate that the fact that the parking lot pictures were not taken in any place remotely abandoned (it’s a well kept gated lot) or the railing pictures are hardly secluded (it’s right off a public street and practically in people’s backyards).

I think it’s interesting that Rob’s best friend in a whole world did not hop the first flight to LA from London when this went down. Instead, that first weekend (the weekend of the opening ceremonies of the Olympics mind you) Sam Bradley posted pictures of a tropical island to his instagram and four days later he’s back in Europe.

You only have to be on the islands of the Bahamas (and many others in the Caribbean) to be considered a legal citizen and can legally marry. That is why they are so popular for destination weddings.

I totally agree with twitlonger. As I previously stated, on July 30th I posted, (on a different website, can provide link if anyone wants it) that I thought they, Kristen and Robert, were doing all this to get time to themselves…thought they might even be having a private wedding. Thought they were so fed up with the media and lack of privacy that they wanted to ‘teach the papz a lesson’. What a great way to show the public that nothing can be believed that is written by these mags, gossip sites, bloggers…etc.

Still feel the same…have tossed out a few different theories here and there, but still believe Kristen and Rob were done with the b.s.

It basically tracks the Grand Punk scenario but they never tell anyone that they did it.

Couple key problems with her scenario. 1. It seriously places Kristen at risk of some crazy going psycho on her, something that Rob would not risk or tolerate. 2. It assumes the PopSugar photos were taken down to hide the plot. There not, there still there. 3. Its hardly getting even if you never tell anyone. 4.This scenario involves a massive conspiracy with many players making it more likely that it would be impossible to keep a lid on it. 5. It leaves in place permanently some of the temporary damage to Kristen and Rupert that outing the punk would solve.

I think a lot of what she has said is going on but she misses the main point. The only way they accomplish what they want is to out it.

I agree…what ever she did with Rupert has nothing to do with her acting…it doesn’t make sense to me how people forget that acting is a job and someone’s personal life is an entirely different thing. You don’t have to like what someone does to be a fan of their work. If the dude at starbucks who makes really amazing lattes cheated on his girlfriend I wouldn’t stop going to starbucks over it it’s just stupid. Also GC never said it happened more than once, in fact they busted the shit out of a rumor supposedly started by Ross’s brother that it had been going on since production…that squashed that flat…there is not one shred of evidence that it happened more than once…AND if you go back and look at the pictures Kristen was aware the photographer was there, she looked right at him like twice…Also body language…the pressing her butt into Rupert’s groin could, and probably was, more her leaning away from him… I mean I get that the shock factor when first seeing the photos would cause an “OMG she did what?” reaction from fans….but seriously….look at them again and look at her face.
