“Ride ‘Em On Down” was originally recorded by blues singer Eddie Taylor in 1955, but rock legends Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts have put their own signature twist on the tune. The group’s new 12-track album also features covers of songs by Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Howlin’ Wolf, and more. Eric Clapton is featured on two tracks on the record, while the Stones’ touring band members, Darryl Jones, Chuck Leavell and Matt Clifford, also collaborated. The entire album was recorded in just three days at British Grove Studios in London.
In the video for “Ride ‘Em On Down,” Stewart can be seen revving up the engine of a blue Mustang and then speeding down the streets of an abandoned Los Angeles as the Stones’ track plays along. A few notable moments include the actress glancing at the camera in her sunglasses while switching gears, sucking on a blue lollypop, and smoking a cigarette while dancing at a gas station. Blue & Lonesome, The Rolling Stones’ 25th studio album, dropped on Friday. Watch Stewart in the music video for “Ride Em On Down” below!
