Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are the subject of two film events to be held in Brooklyn, New York. And, coincidentally or not, they are scheduled to take place back-to-back.

The screenings are to occur in September at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, as part of its BAMcinématek program, which “presents classic films, premieres, festivals, and retrospectives, with appearances by filmmakers, actors, and critics.” The first film series, and the longer of the two, is called “Bad Reputation: Spotlight on Kristen Stewart.” Over five days, Panic Room, Twilight (which, of course, also stars Pattinson), Adventureland, The Runaways, and The Clouds of Sils Maria will all be played in the on-site theaters.

“Already a show business veteran before the age of 30, Kristen Stewart has emerged as one of the most fascinating, risk-taking actresses of her generation,” says the official description. “In a career that continues to surprise, she’s been a child star, anchored a blockbuster franchise, and, most recently, dedicated herself to a host of adventurous, auteur-driven projects (this year alone sees her starring in films by Olivier Assayas, Kelly Reichardt, and Woody Allen). Her combination of quiet intensity, innate intelligence, and fierce commitment to craft makes for a uniquely compelling screen presence.”

The day after the Stewart retrospective ends, the spotlight turns to Pattinson for a one-day event called “Pattinson x Cronenberg.” As the name suggests, it’s all about the actor’s work with director David Cronenberg. Cosmopolis and Maps to the Stars will both be screened.

The description states, “David Cronenberg’s two most recent films are visually striking portraits of modern malaise, showcasing the traumas of capitalism and Hollywood in all their bizarro grandeur. Robert Pattinson, whose ability to convey repression, alienation, and emotional distance makes him the perfect Cronenberg muse, takes the wheel in Cosmopolis as the film’s core character — present in almost every frame — and does so again, literally, in Maps to the Stars, where he plays a limo driver for the weirdest of Hollywood’s denizens.”

The Stewart series is slated for September 23-27, while the Pattinson screenings will be held on September 28. Neither star is currently expected to attend the events.
