Kristen Stewart’s “Personal Shopper,” “Certain Women” Screening At New York Film Festival
There will be a double dose of Kristen Stewart at the 2016 New York Film Festival. Personal Shopper and Certain Women will both screen at the event this fall, it was announced on Tuesday.
Certain Women had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Directed by Kelly Reichardt, the movie also stars Michelle Williams and Laura Dern. And, interestingly, it’s actually multiple films in one, based on the short story collection, Both Ways Is the Only Way I Want It.
Personal Shopper premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, Stewart responded to boos Personal Shopper received from the audience, and the ghost movie ended up receiving praise from critics. The Olivier Assayas film will now have another chance to impress, this time in the U.S.
And Stewart having not one, but two films at the New York Film Festival comes after she had two movies at Cannes. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, Café Society also had its premiere at the multi-day event, too. While Stewart attended both screenings then, it has not yet been confirmed whether she’ll be putting in appearances at NYFF.
The news follows the announcement that Stewart is the focus of an upcoming film series at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s BAMcinématek. As Gossip Cop reported, next month several Stewart movies will have screenings, as will two films from Robert Pattinson. And, as previously noted, Pattinson will also have a film at NYFF. The Lost City Of Z will close the film festival on October 15.
