Is Kristen Stewart ironing out a role opposite the Man of Steel?

Now that Henry Cavill has been picked to be the new Superman, rumors are rampant that Twilight star Stewart will join him as Lois Lane.

As the female lead in one of Hollywood’s biggest franchises, Stewart’s name is bound to come up in all sorts of casting conversations (as it has today – prematurely – with Snow White and the Huntsman).

How much legitimacy is there to this talk about her playing Lane?

Not much.

A source familiar with the upcoming Zack Snyder movie tells Gossip Cop it’s “unlikely” Stewart would wind up in the Lane role since she hasn’t even been approached about the film.

The studio itself, meanwhile, “does not comment on rumors.”

    I love Kristen Stewart and think she is an amazing actress!!! I’ll support her in any film she chooses to make. Unfortunately for the makers of Superman, I don’t think I’ll see it unless she’s in it—sorry!

    This just sounds to me like someone wanting to get publicity for the movie by throwing in Kristen’s name. If it’s something she wants to do then it’d be great for her. Just more rumors of people knowing how to get attention.

    To be frank, after just completing the Twilight Saga, I just don’t think that she would be interested in becoming part of another commercial franchise right way. She would make a great Lois Lane though, she has the right kind of spunk to fill the shoes of an intrepid reporter.

    Pennybug, I agree with you. It seems that when they want their website to get a hit, they insert Kristen’s name in the article even if has nothing to with her.

    We got it, noraluce, you don’t care for Kristen. Give it a rest. The studio would be very lucky and grateful to have Kristen for any of their projects.

    The post above is misleading. She was interviewed by the director, who very much wanted her on board. But she apparently chickened out.
