Kristen Stewart: “I’ve Never Been Happier” – Watch “Today” Show Video
Kristen Stewart said she’s “never been happier” during a wide-ranging interview broadcast on Monday’s “Today” show. Watch below!
Stewart’s sit-down with Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotba was taped last week, and it began with the star being called “one of the most accomplished young actresses in Hollywood.” She appeared on the show to promote Certain Women, in which she plays lawyer and teacher who unexpectedly bonds with a student. Stewart called the storyline “painful” as the two women, at first, struggle to connect.
Guthrie asked if it was a “conscious choice” to go the “indie film route” or if these were just more “juicy and interesting.” Stewart answered, “More of that. Trust me, I’m waiting for a big one! I genuinely shoot from the hip, so I’ve been lucky. I’m typically drawn to other creative people that I know I should work with, and I haven’t been let down.”
Kotb changed the subject to a “superficial” topic: Stewart’s dyed blonde hair. “I haven’t acted in a movie in close to a year,” the actress noted, explaining, “I’m constantly preserving my physicality and staying neutral to fit the roles and be ready to do anything. I worked and worked and worked on a few movies — they’re all coming out now, which tends to happen — [and] I directed a short. I was like, ‘You know what, I can do whatever I want [with my look.]'”
And speaking of the short, when asked if she wants to do more directing, Stewart enthusiastically answered, “I’ve never been happier. I love acting. I don’t think there’s a huge distinction between the two, for me. I found my next level [and] I’m ready to go.” Check out the full video below!
