Kristen Stewart ‘GMA’ Video: Watch ‘Cafe Society’ Interview!
Kristen Stewart appeared on Monday’s “Good Morning America” to discuss her new movie Cafe Society. Watch the actress’s full “GMA” interview below!
In the 1930s-set comedy, written and directed by Woody Allen, Stewart plays a small-town girl working as a secretary for a big-shot Hollywood agent (Steve Carell). Jesse Eisenberg co-stars as her love interest, a New Yorker who ventures out to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film industry. The cast of the movie also includes Blake Lively, Corey Stoll and Parker Posey.
“I play somebody who really needs to facilitate this impulsive, guiltless kind of unconventional romance,” Stewart said on the morning show. “So the only way that would work is if her energy was light and inviting and buoyant all the time.” The actress went on to note that the role is less dramatic than the type of parts she’s typically known for, adding, “I tend to have a slightly more waited energy. Woody was like, as long as you don’t walk like a sailor… I auditioned for it, and apparently did ok.”
Cafe Society marks the third time that Stewart has co-starred opposite Eisenberg, whom the actress described as “stupidly smart.” She added, “Instead of it being intimated… I’m not embarrassed around him. He’s a really open, warm person. I’ve known him for years, so to play somebody so outside of myself was easy with him.” Watch Stewart’s full “GMA” interview below!
