Now with Ryan G. is another story. I think it would be a hit movie since Ryan has his own fandom too. It’s a pity that he backed out.
I can’t say anything about Joseph-Gordan Levitt. He is a good actor but he doesn’t have the same charm as two above mentioned actors.

ITA. I find Affleck rather wooden. Gosling has a more fluid acting style and an edgy energy, much like Kristen’s. That’s a pairing I’d really love to see. Should have 2 versions; the post Cannes and the post TIFF. I ‘ll check the British DVD when it comes out but to be honest, I did not really see the difference when I watched it again in England. It could also be that the British version was still the same one and that they only changed it for TIFF. Maybe checking the US DVD is the surest bet. Walter Salles did say he liked both versions.

Matchstick Men was great! Did anyone see BA in The Town, about a group of gutsy Irish bank robbers. One of the tellers is a witness, and BA is chosen to romance her and silence her. Of course they end up in love, and he is driven to change his line of work. He was kind of a con artist in this movie.

Yep. Those two guys directed Crazy Stupid Love, and they wrote their own script and plan to direct it for Focus. They both wrote Bad Santa, which was a dark, hilarious comedy that received good reviews. They also directed and wrote I Love You Phillip Morris, which was a very dark comedy that received pretty good reviews. I Love You Phillip Morris didn’t do too well because it was very offbeat and also because large swathes of America are still homophobic. It was about a pair of gay men in a prison and involved embezzlement and murder. Their humor is definitely dark and twisty, so I’m excited. It will definitely be a little more conventional than Bad Santa and I Love You Phillip Morris, but I’m hoping that type humor comes out. You could see a little of that humor in Crazy Stupid Love, even though they just directed and didn’t write that particular script. Anyway, based on some of the stuff I read and on their previous work, I think this film will be more conventional than Bad Santa and I Love You Phillip Morris but a little darker than Crazy Stupid Love.
