Kristen Stewart fans are raising money for the animal rescue organization, the Lange Foundation, in honor of the actress’s 26th birthday on April 9. The campaign was launched as part of the 2016 Kristen Stewart Birthday Project, which each year supports a different cause close to Stewart’s heart.

This year, fans have voted to support the Los Angeles-based Lange Foundation because of Stewart’s love for animals. The organization works to find homes for stray cats and dogs that would otherwise be euthanized in overcrowded shelters. The group also provides medical treatment for sick animals, which are then rehabilitated and adopted by loving owners. Stewart, who has three rescue dogs of her own, has publicly thanked her fans in the past for banding together to create a charity in her honor.

Stewart’s fans have already raised more than $10,000 for the Lange Foundation since the initiative was launched on March 9. Last year, the Kristen Stewart Birthday Project raised $27,000 for the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, a disease fans were inspired to help battle following Stewart’s role in the movie Still Alice, in which she plays a woman whose mother develops early onset Alzheimer’s. And in 2014, the charity supported Covenant House, an agency providing services to the homeless.
