Kristen Stewart In Talks To Star In Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk Movie
Kristen Stewart is in talks to star in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk with Oscar-winning director Ang Lee.
The filmmaker, who has won the Best Director Academy Award twice for Brokeback Mountain and Life of Pi, is adapting the novel of the same name by Ben Fountain. Joe Alwyn has been cast in the title role, with Steve Martin and Stewart’s On The Road colleague Garrett Hedlund set to co-star. Stewart has been eyed to play the role of Billy’s older sister, Kathryn, and is in negotiations for the role.
The story focuses on 19-year-old U.S. soldier Billy, who survives a firefight in Iraq. Billy and his fellow troops are brought home for a victory tour of sorts that eventually takes them to the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game, where they are to be honored for their heroic efforts. Billy, however, is challenged by the prospect of having to return to the war abroad afterward.
While Stewart, whose possible participation was first reported by The Wrap, is not officially on board yet, production is expected to begin this month. What do you think of Stewart potentially joining Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk?
