Kristen Bell Slams Donald Trump’s ‘Frozen’ Tweet Amid Police Shootings
Kristen Bell called out Donald Trump on Thursday after the Republican presidential candidate tweeted criticism related to Disney’s Frozen, but failed to comment on the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, two black men shot and killed by the police within a day of each other.
Last week, many people accused Trump of anti-Semitism when he posted a six-pointed star, reminiscent of the Star of David, next to a picture of Hillary Clinton, a pile of cash, and the words “most corrupt candidate ever.” After a storm of backlash from Twitter users accusing the presumptive GOP nominee of invoking a negative Jewish stereotype, Trump deleted the image and replaced the star with a circle.
He later insisted that the star represented a sheriff’s badge, and that he was being unjustly attacked by the media. On Wednesday night, Trump posted a photo (see below) of a six-pointed star that’s featured on the cover of a book based on the animated Disney movie Frozen, and wrote, “Where is the outrage for this Disney book? Is this the ‘Star of David’ also? Dishonest media! #Frozen.”
Bell, who just so happens to voice the main character in Frozen, later tweeted in response, “Zip it Don & get ur head outta ur ass. We’ve more important things 2 think abt today.” The actress then added the hashtags #AltonSterling and #PhilandoCastile” to honor the two slain men. Trump has yet to respond to Bell’s pointed message. See the tweet below.
