Kris Jenner Blew Off Hosting Police Fundraiser, Says Site
Kris Jenner did not blow off hosting a police fundraiser last weekend, despite a poorly reported story. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the claim. We’re told by one of the event’s organizers that the report is completely untrue.
According to RadarOnline, Jenner has been the one who’s “railed” against her kids for being no-shows at events, but now she’s the one “blowing off hosting duties,” having left a “fundraiser in the lurch.” The webloid notes the family matriarch was supposed to host an event for the Los Angeles Police Department on Saturday, but instead got on a private jet to Las Vegas to be by Lamar Odom’s side after he came out of a coma.
The outlet alleges Jenner “did not even let the event organizers know that she was not coming” until an hour after the fundraiser began. A so-called “insider” tells the webloid, “It was just rude.”
Not surprisingly, the blog didn’t bother to fact-check its bogus claim. First off, since Gossip Cop is happy to give the organization publicity, the fundraiser was for the Eagle and Badge Foundation, raises money for families of officers in times of critical need. The foundation also supports and maintains the End of Watch Memorial Wall, which pays tribute to the 207 Los Angeles police officers who have died in the line of duty.
But if you read the RadarOnline story you wouldn’t have learned that or the truth. A rep for the event exclusively tells Gossip Cop that Jenner was far from “rude” nor did she blow off the event.
One of the fundraiser’s organizers says Jenner “told us a day or two ahead of time” that she would be with Odom, and everyone fully understood. Additionally, Gossip Cop hears Jenner felt her presence, at the time, “might distract” from the event itself. Wendy Burch, a reporter and anchor for KTLA, happily stepped in for Jenner as the evening’s host.
