Kris Jenner: I’m “Really Happy” For Bruce (VIDEO)
Kris Jenner insists she’s “really happy” for Bruce Jenner. Speaking at Tuesday’s Children’s Justice Campaign event in Beverly Hills, Kris told reporters she was doing “good” when asked how she’s handling her ex-husband’s transition. See video below.
“[I’m] really happy for him,” Kris said. “Family’s doing great, and Bruce is doing great. And everybody’s super supportive.” She further told “Entertainment Tonight” of her current relationship with Bruce, “We talk all the time. We still work together and he’s still the dad of my kids, and we have a really good relationship.” The exchange marked Kris’ first live, in-person comments in the wake of Bruce’s “20/20” interview last month, when he admitted he’s transgender and identifies as a woman.
The remarks are a stark contrast to a teaser for Sunday’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce.” As Gossip Cop reported, a preview clip of the E! special shows Kris crying to Kim Kardashian about Bruce’s transition. She tells her daughter, “I have these memories of this life, and I feel sometimes like it didn’t exist.” Kardashian bluntly tells her mother that she needs to “let go.”
As that footage was filmed earlier this year, it seems Kris’ might’ve taken Kardashian’s advice since then. When Bruce’s ABC special aired a few weeks ago, the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch had a much different response. “Not only was I able to call him my husband for 25 years and father of my children, I am now able to call him my hero,” she tweeted.
Interestingly, Kris’ other former husband, the late Robert Kardashian, was also a topic at the Children’s Justice Campaign gathering. While Kris was in attendance to support Kelly Rutherford amidst her battle to regain custody of her kids, she took the time to pose for photos with Selma Blair. Earlier this week, it was announced the actress will join David Schwimmer in the upcoming FX event series, “The People V. OJ Simpson,” for they will play Kris and Robert on screen, recreating the couple’s relationship during Simpson’s infamous murder trial, where Robert was one of his attorneys.
While Schwimmer has already spoken to Kris to prepare for his role, she and Blair only met for the first time on the red carpet. See photos of Blair with Kris below, as well as video of Kris talking about Bruce.
