Kourtney Kardashian: My Family Thinks I’m “Insane” for Doing Attachment Parenting
Kourtney Kardashian says she practices attachment parenting in a new interview with Redbook. “It’s what came naturally to me; I didn’t plan it. When I had Mason, I just felt really attached to him, and wanted to bring him everywhere,” reveals the reality star.
Kardashian admits Mason “ended up sleeping with me, and I breast-fed for 14 months,” adding the 4-year-old toddler and 19-month-old Penelope both “still sleep in my bed.” “They go to sleep in their rooms, but end up in my bed, sometimes within minutes,” she says.
Kardashian furthered confessed during a Kardashian Kids event on Monday that she has “no idea” where her parenting style came from “because I definitely didn’t sleep with my parents unless I was sick or something.”
“I don’t know, it just kind of grew. I wasn’t reading attachment parenting books before,” says Kardashian, noting, “I think even with different kids, it’s different. Each kid needs something different.”
She even acknowledged, “I’m sure all the family thinks I’m insane for having them in the bed and breastfeeding for a long time, but whatever.”
