Koryn Hawthorne “Make It Rain” The Voice Video: Watch “Incredible,” “Inspirational” Performance!
Koryn Hawthorne gave an “incredible” and “inspirational” performance of “Make It Rain” on “The Voice” on Monday. Watch below!
Hawthorne is in the midst of a major comeback in the competition after just barely surviving the live playoffs. As Gossip Cop reported, the singer didn’t receive enough votes to automatically make the Top 12, leading her coach Pharrell to pick her as his one choice to continue on. It proved to be a smart decision last week when Hawthorne’s performance earned her a standing ovation, and she proved her worth again this time around with “Make It Rain.”
The track is by Foy Vance, though best known via a cover by Ed Sheeran. But it’s now Hawthorne’s version that is likely to have everyone talking. After all four coaches gave a standing ovation, the third one of the night, Shelton declared, “This is not the episode of ‘The Voice’ that you want to slip up even a little bit.” He went on to tell Hawthorne, “I don’t know how you could’ve done any better than what you just did. Incredible. You sang great and you had the emotion… Welcome to the Top 8. Let’s just get it out there.”
The contestant’s former coach, Christina Aguilera said, “That was incredible. That was your best performance yet on the show. Your heart was just out there. You embodied that song. That was a perfect choice for you…This is a sad night that you’re not on my team, but I’m so glad again. I’m always rooting for you, love.
And Pharrell, who, as Gossip Cop previously reported, stole Hawthorne from Aguilera, told his artist, “Koryn, you have earned the titled ‘inspirational singer,’ because this room is inspired right now. And America is inspired. You came out here and you sang that song for your mom and your family, and I’m telling you we all feel lifted.”
The coach went on to encourage the gospel and Christian communities to vote for Hawthorne so she could continue to “lift” everyone. Check out the video below!
