Koryn Hawthorne “Bright Fire” The Voice Finale Video: Watch Performances Here!
Koryn Hawthorne continued her remarkable journey on Monday’s “The Voice,” the first part of the season 8 finale. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop reported, Hawthorne barely survived the Live Playoffs earlier this season. On the verge of elimination after not receiving enough viewer votes to automatically advance, Pharrell opted to keep the aspiring star over two others on his team. His choice proved a wise one, as Hawthorne broke out from the pack almost immediately afterward, and has hone on to receive multiple standing ovations from the judges.
For the finale, which consisted of three rounds, Hawthorne kicked off the night by performing “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” which was chosen by the public as her solo song. Adam Levine told her afterward, “Every single one of us, all four of us, more than all four of us, but all four of us, we can promise you, we can put the competition aside to say we’re all so unbelievably proud of you.” Blake Shelton said not only did the rendition prove she “deserved to be in the finale,” but that it was her “best performance yet.”
The 17-year-old contestant followed that by teaming up with Pharrell for a duet of “We Can Work It Out,” and then for her last performance, performed “Bright Fire,” which will be released as her first single if she wins the competition. Pharrell wrote the song especially for her, which actually made Levine jealous. He went on to say Hawthorne gave a “beautiful vocal,” and her former coach Christina Aguilera pointed out the talent she showed at such a young age.
