Kirsten Dunst covers the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK, and the actress shares her thoughts about gender and femininity.

“I feel like the feminine has been a little undervalued,” says Dunst.

She acknowledges that “we all have to get our own jobs and make our own money,” but the actress adds, “staying at home, nurturing, being the mother, cooking – it’s a valuable thing my mom created.”

As for relationships, Dunst believes that “sometimes, you need your knight in shining armor.”

She continues, “I’m sorry. You need a man to be a man and a woman to be a woman. That’s why relationships work.”

Dunst also touches on the importance of having “your girlfriends for life,” her professional ambition to stay “busy all the time,” and desire to try directing in a few years.
