Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Thanked For Donating 1,000 Shoes To Soles 4 Souls
Earlier this month, Kardashian vowed to make the large donation after hearing about a teen’s quest to contribute 2,000 pairs. She had already amassed half that, and needed 1,000 more by December 18. Kardashian promised she and West would provide the rest.
And the couple kept their word. In a new blog post on her official site, Kardashian shared a photo of the Soles 4 Souls crew surrounded by boxes and boxes of shoes. The staffers are holding up signs that read, “Thank You Kim and Kanye <3 Soles 4 Souls.”
Kardashian wrote alongside the picture, “A few weeks ago, I was up breastfeeding and watching a show called ‘Dish Nation” when I learned about Amelia Flores, a girl who was looking for 1,000 shoes to donate to Soles 4 Souls. The organization helped her and her family during Hurricane Katrina and she has started collecting her own sneakers to give back. I knew I had to get involved!”
“Kanye and I were so happy to donate 1,000 shoes to Soles 4 Souls this holiday season,” Kardashian went on. “They were Adidas and Kardashian Kollection shoes! I’m so glad to have learned about an organization doing so much good around the world.”
In a statement on the Soles 4 Soles site, CEO and President Buddy Teaster says, “The quantity and quality of the Adidas and Kardashian Kollection donation from Kanye and Kim Kardashian West is really extraordinary. The fact we are able to distribute them to people in need here in the US is an even bigger deal. These shoes are going to make a real difference and we’re grateful for the awareness that came from Kim’s post and the commitment both of them have shown to helping men, women and children in need.”
The non-profit organization is now “working hand in hand with Amelia to distribute the shoes in her hometown of Wichita, New Orleans as well as Kim and Kanye’s team to identify who will receive the shoes in Los Angeles.” Check out the ‘thank you’ photo below, and tell us what you think of Kardashian and West’s donation.
