VIDEO: Kim Kardashian New Super Bowl Commercial Pokes Fun At Selfie Obsession
Kim Kardashian pokes fun at her obsession with selfies in a mock PSA for T-Mobile’s Super Bowl ad. The 30-second commercial debuted early Tuesday. Watch below!
With the clip declaring her “Kim Kardashian West, Famous Person,” the reality star says with (fake) seriousness, “Each month, millions of gigs of unused data are taken back by wireless companies. Tragic. Data that can be used to see my makeup, my backhand, my outfits, my vacations, and my outfits. Sadly, all lost. Please, help save the data.”
The ad, naturally, features Kardashian taking selfies showcasing each of those scenarios. It was created, in case you couldn’t tell, to promote T-Mobile’s “Data Stash,” which allows customers to keep unused data for up to a year. As Gossip Cop reported, Kardashian spoke about the commercial on “Entertainment Tonight” on Monday, saying, “I think you have to have a sense of humor. The commercial is so funny, and I think, for once, you see I’m kind of poking fun at the idea of the ridiculousness of everyone and their selfies.”
“I love it,” Kardashian went on. “I’m a big fan of selfies. I’ve taken them for decades.” Of course, the clip’s timing also coincidences with Kardashian’s new book of selfies, called Selfish, which features the hundreds of snapshots she’s taken of herself over the years.
