Kim Kardashian says her hard work deserves acknowledgment and respect, even if you’re not a fan of the work itself. Speaking at the Re/Code Code Mobile conference on Monday, the reality star complained that her success is viewed as inferior to that of other celebrities.

Kardashian was first asked why people don’t take her seriously. She replied, “That is a question that sometimes I get frustrated with. I pride myself in my work ethic and I work really hard.”

Kardashian went on, “I think sometimes that when people hear that I might have gotten success off of a ‘reality show,’ they take that as a negative. We’re filming our tenth season. We’ve had nine seasons of spinoffs. We have more episodes than ‘I Love Lucy.’ We have so many milestones that people don’t think about.” She further declared, “I don’t think reality TV gets the respect it deserves.”

And Kardashian even provided a full accounting of a typical day. She revealed, “I wake up every single day at 6 a.m., and go to the gym, and get my daughter up, feed my baby, film all day, sometimes don’t finish until 8 or 9 p.m., and that’s every single day, six days a week, for five months straight while we’re filming.” And granted that Kardashian first shot to fame with a sex tape, and what’s being filmed now often looks like fun and games, her days actually revolve around meetings for all of the Kardashians’ various businesses — boutiques, clothing and makeup lines, books and more.

Still, Kardashian called her reality shows “well-shot, well-lit home movies,” and says social media is what “allowed my career to sustain, and I’ve adapted to the chance of it all.” Insisting that she does all of her own posting, Kardashian shot down rumors that gets paid $10,000 per tweet, joking, “I would be tweeting every two seconds if that was true.”

As for the “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” game released earlier this year, some reports have said the app stands to make $200 million in revenue its first 12 months alone. Kardashian, however, simply says, “We’ll never talk dollars and cents… It could be more. It could be less. It’s been very good to me.”

She reiterated, “It’s an every day job for me. I get up and it’s proving everything. I think the success on the game is a lot because we work really hard at it.”
