Is HollywoodLife trying to break a record for Most Absurd Stories in One Week?

Fresh off fabrications about Taylor Swift getting a boob job, Miley Cyrus being anorexic, Kim Kardashian “attacking” people with pizza, and Kristen Stewart demanding her “sexual freedom” comes a bizarre new story involving Kardashian… and a basketball.

On Friday, Kim and Khloe Kardashian went with Lamar Odom to his old neighborhood in Queens, New York, where they shot some hoops and filmed for “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” (PHOTOS HERE).

To most rational observers, it was a completely innocuous (if highly produced) outing.

To HollywoodLife, it was an attack on Kris Humphries!

The webloid explains, “Kim Kardashian loves taking cheap shots at her ex Kris Humphries, and before she was seen on another public date with her new man Kanye West, she took the basketball court for photographers. We think she’s picking on Kris once more!”

Um, based on what, exactly?

Because she held a basketball, and Humphries plays basketball?

The whole point of the excursion to Queens was because Kim was with brother-in-law Odom… who also plays basketball.

But HollywoodLife smells scandal!

“An opportunity for Kim to be pictured with a basketball? Sounds like an easy way to get under 27-year-old Kris’ skin!” the blog declares.

So is Kardashian now not allowed to hold a basketball without sensationalistic websites linking it to Humphries?

Can she visit her ex’s home state of Minnesota, or is that considered mockery, too?

Would HollywoodLife be OK with her touching a football, or would that mean she’s making fun of NFL player ex Reggie Bush?

Maybe HollywoodLife should furnish a list of what Kardashian is and is not allowed to do without the site twisting it into an attack on someone.

In the meantime, file this story with the rest of the site’s recent embarrassing whiffs.
