Kim Kardashian Trying To “Strike Up Royal Friendship” With Meghan Markle?
Kim Kardashian is trying to “strike up [a] royal friendship” with Meghan Markle, according to reports, which even claim the reality star is spending money to “look more” like the actress. Gossip Cop investigated, however, and can exclusively reveal the truth.
Picking up these claims from the ironically named Reveal Magazine, the Mirror is alleging Kardashian is “splashing the cash in the hopes of striking up a royal friendship.” A so-called “source” from the British tabloid alleges Kardashian is “obsessed” with the “Suits” star. And now, contends the newspaper, she’s “spent thousands on new clothes and make-up in order to look more like Prince Harry’s girlfriend.”
That supposedly includes hiring a “new secret stylist to help her look more ‘Megan-ish,'” asserts both outlets, which also allege Kardashian is hoping to partner with Markle on a charity project. But, maintains the U.K. newspaper, the actress has “no interest in getting involved with the Kardashians.”
It’s only at the end of the article that the Mirror acknowledges the allegations are likely untrue. Of course, that didn’t stop the publication from building a full story around them with a declarative headline that stated as fact, “Kim Kardashian ‘hoping to strike up royal friendship as she spends hundreds of thousands to look more like Meghan Markle.'”
Furthermore, this isn’t the first time the paper has run a suspicious piece about Kardashian supposedly being desperate to befriend a fellow celebrity. Last August, the outlet wrongly insisted Karadshian wanted to have dinner with Adele for “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Gossip Cop busted that untruth at the time, and now we can bust this latest falsehood involving Markle as well.
Gossip Cop can reveal the Mirror picked up a totally made-up story from Reveal. Markle hasn’t rejected any friendship overtures from Kardashian because Kardashian hasn’t made any. Gossip Cop is told by our own Kardashian contact that the contentions, particularly the assertions that she’s trying to “look more” like the TV star, are “nonsense.” Additionally, a rep exclusively tells us the claims are “stupid and false.”
