Truth rating: 10

Kim Kardashian is under fire for posting two Twitter messages about the escalating conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

Early Friday, Kardashian tweeted, “Praying for everyone in Israel.”

After a wave of backlash, the reality star wrote, “And praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!”

When the criticism continued, Kardashian deleted both messages.

A short time later, Kardashian took to her blog to offer an apology and explanation:

“I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize.”

“I should have pointed out my intentions behind these tweets when I posted them. The fact is that regardless of religion and political beliefs, there are countless innocent people involved who didnt choose this, and I pray for all of them and also for a resolution.”

“I also pray for all the other people around the world who are caught in similar crossfires.”

What do you think about Kardashian’s original tweets, her decision to erase them, and her follow-up post?

WOW- Kim K might just be Growing Up! Peace on Earth!

  • robotlips

It’s a sad world. She shouldn’t have to explain herself if she wanted to just pray for everyone in Israel and no place else.

I highly doubt that Kim wrote that apology on her blog by herself. Some on on her team must’ve written that. And I also sincerely doubt that she knows whats really going on between Israel and Palestine. She just knows that ‘something’ bad is going on and tried to look like she’s smart and well read and sympathetic.

  • Catherine

Kim’s apology is well stated and hopefully she learned a lesson – messages regarding complicated situations are very difficult to boil down to 140 characters or less and not lose something in translation.

  • me2012

another ‘desperate’ attempt to keep herself in the spotlight….cheap and pathetic,,,,but that is her forte

  • me2012

fake does not look good on anyone, especially not her..

  • Megan

I’m confused. What was so offensive about her tweets. People will try anything just to tear this poor girl down!

  • Popgirl

    Spot on.

  • Popgirl

I’m sure momma Kris wrote that.

  • Rose

Cripes almighty people are ignorant. Nobody dares say anything anymore. People are sheep afraid of their own shadows. Don’t say this, don’t say that, attack people and tear them apart, show how much you hate Kim by wasting your time coming here, when it was her name that drew you in the first place.

I think its wonderful that she wrote that message about israel and also palestine. Nothing wrong with it, good for her and those who criticize her can take a flying leap.

  • guest

what kind of followers does this girl have that they dont want her to pray for peace in a volatile region.

  • MILDLY_AMUSED

    U r so rite!!!

  • policing

    hear hear!!!

  • lts

she just need to stay away from topics that are out of her scope of understanding, dumb girl. stay on make up, hair and parties issues, is all she is capable of understanding.

Palestinian life should matter as much as Israeli life; which should matter as much as Cambodian life, Greek life, Kenyan life, Australian life…

There is no need to apology she placed a statement as she fill.remember the first feeling is the best and right.

  • martina

Well, she just echoed well received propaganda of self-righteous Israel, that every idiot as her use to repeat without actual knowladge of the history and that problem. She should stay away from politics, she obviously has no idea whats going on, and it seems that repeating favorable comments and opinions is not enough. Or she just used to side with Israel. Good to know. I don’t think anyone was really surprised.

  • martina

To actually answer your question it’s insulting to the logic and brain themselves. Maybe, just maybe, try turn off this page, and go wonder somewhere between the history, news and politics. Maybe you find your answer, you ‘poor girl’- btw, definition of this word is in dictionary, maybe you should look it up too.

  • martina

First feeling is the right one?……ok, Well, then I can’t understand why would Germany need to apologize for holocaust! First feeling right……..?! Well, it must be the best then.

Ignorance is the biggest violance…..and you represent that very well my dear!

  • martina

Those who criticise her are doing it as she felt sorry for Israel victims only. Just later on, re-tweeted that she “obviously” feel sorry for Palestine too. Fake girl, fake comment, fake compassion.

  • martina

Those, who shaking their heads, when she excluded Palestine’s victims from her “sincere statement”.

  • martina

Erm, no! What draw people here was her mentioning politics, and siding with Israel.

  • Megan

Why don’t you fuk off! You need to go back to grammar school with all of those mistakes you made writing your paragraph dummy!

  • mugwort

Next time to be safe Kim Karsashian should stay out of politics on Twitter.

  • Mr Sir

“Let’s see…I need some attention, being the fame whore that I am…I know! I’ll tweet something stupid and blame it on my “ignorance. Aren’t I pretty?”

  • Jennifer

I certainly agree. Too bad Hamas doesn’t. Or Hezbollah or the half dozen “legitimate” nations surrounding Israel that state, plainly, in their Constitutions their goal to completely irradicate Israel by any means necessary. It’s all there. Go, read, learn.

  • Jennifer

Were you insulting Megan because you really don’t know the answers yourself? Do you know anything at all about what the conflict is really about, when it actually started, who the players are, etc.? I’m guessing no, but… if you do, you just missed a learning opportunity so you could be rude to someone with a differing opinion. Not the mark of an intellectual, by any means. People in glass houses, etc.

  • Jennifer

So far as I can see, there is nothing particularly offensive in the woman’s tweets. It was well-intended, I’m sure. It is unfortunately, a very partisan topic and Kardashian is a very polarizing figure.

  • JustSaying

Poor girl??????Really???Stupid girl, more like it

  • JustSaying

    You said it, me2012

  • JustSaying

    Really??? Don’t think so either

  • JustSaying

She should stick to making porn movies and dating/marrying/divorcing famous black guys with money. She should stay away from stuff that’s way beyond her intellect!!!!

  • Jaygreen

she is dumb as dirt, geesh

  • robotlips

When Americans sing “God Bless America,” should they be required to name every other country in the world too? Do the Palestinian’s get criticized when they pray for their people and not the Israelites? I don’t think so.
