CLAIM: Kim Kardashian “Turned a Blind Eye” to Haiti’s Problems During Visit

Kim Kardashian’s recent trip to earthquake-ravaged Haiti was all a “sham,” according to the National Enquirer, which claims the reality star only embarked on the mission “in a desperate bid to repair her tattered image.”

The mag says that during her two-day stay in Port-au-Prince, Kardashian “stayed in a $1,000-a-night hotel suite, traveled in a royalty-worthy convoy with her own photographers and bodyguards, and strutted down the runway in a fashion show.”

She also allegedly “avoided the squalid refugee camps,” writes the tabloid, which quotes a so-called “source” as saying, “Kim turned a blind eye to Haiti’s real issues — poverty and hunger. All she did was rub shoulders with the nation’s elite.”

Adds that same “source”: “She showed no interest in the plight of our people. It was a scandalous waste of time and money.”

And it supposedly gets even worse.

The Enquirer reports Kardashian opted to have children “bused in to meet her” at the area’s most prestigious academy for a Christmas gift drive, rather than “dirtying herself at a refugee camp.”

Kardashian allegedly “brought along her own camera crew” to document her gracious act, continues the mag, which notes, “locals were infuriated by her blatant grab for goodwill.”

Wow… seriously?

Not quite.

The reality star is blasting the tabloid’s claims about her trip, calling the allegations that she went to a fashion show and pampered herself “ridiculous and untrue.”

Kardashian addressed the Enquirer’s story in a post on her blog on Tuesday, writing, “The journalists obviously didn’t bother to do their research and instead published a ridiculous story to sell copies.”

She says the story is “malicious” and full of “lies,” and it “belittles the entire experience we had in Haiti.”

    While I have no use for the inquirer I do believe her visit was self serving & about her image & drawing attention away from her marriage scandal & scam. Im all for helping others in torn parts of the country & those that help them out of being genuine & sincere. I have a problem with the K’s or KIM showing much of that & more about what they will benifit or gain from it. A whole lot of PR.. Sad isn’t it. Can they do anything quietly. IM still waiting to see if the actual wedding gifts were returned & what is this about Rolex’s & what Charity money was given too.. NONE of that has been addressed to my knowledge. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Kris H may not be perfect but the continuation to also edit him as they have leaves a bitter taste also.. KIM still comes off as spoiled brat.

    THE NECKLACE?? SHE ISNT THE ONLY ONE IN THAT PICTURE WEARING ONE. I SEE ABOUT 4 OTHERS WEARING BEAUTIFUL NECKLACES AND ONE WEARING A MATCHING PAIR OF EARRINGS. ITS A SHAME THAT THIS GIRL CAN NOT DO ANYTHING JUST BECAUSE ITS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. SHE IS ALWAYS IN THE LIMELIGHT, BUT NEVER GETS GOOD PRESS. IT WOULDNT SUPRISE ME IF THERE ARE TONS OF OTHER GOOD DEEDS THAT SHE HAS DONE THAT ARE NOT RECOGNIZED.

    Where was the photo above taken? Not in a tent city for sure. I hate the enquirer, but that looks like a fashion show to me, which in and of itself is not a bad thing, but not the reason she says she went to Haiti. If she thought that photo was proof she went there to help, she chose the wrong photo.

    I have to say I agree. I’m so sick of all the hate on Kim…people act like they never made a mistake in their life and they are above it all. People need to come down off of their high horse…or however that saying goes.

    The neckless is probably made right there in Haiti and has some kind of relation to Haiti in someway.

    There are other photos of her working in Haiti with Bello, Patricia A, and Kris Jenner. This is just a picture of Kim from and article Kim wrote regarding her trip.

    Then she does not get it. She may have worked her fingers to the bone, but to then use a photo where she is dressed up to depict her work is not the right thing. She should have just used a single photo of herself, not in full make-up and certainly not dressed up.

    sure dosnt look like she is roughing it to me. She looks like shes primed for photo ops as always. Such a spoiled brat! She is merely trying to save her image which is on the rocks and ensure she stays in the limelight.

    And the photos of her and her fame whore mother with Maria Bello and Patricia Arquette says it all. Kim and momager were dressed to the hilt, while Maria, Patricia and rest of people dressed in clothes ready to work! Kim doesn’t do anything without a personal motive to benefit herself.

    It does get a bit irritating to see her doing something good then people say that she’s doing it for her own image. There are celebrities out there who will only write a check & won’t get fully involved with their own charities, but people praise them. But when anyone from this family goes out of their way to spend time with the less fortunate, it’s always turned into something negative.
    You’re right, there are so many other things that she does, but doesn’t make it into a big deal. She gives 10% of her earning to God(tithes) about every month & has so many other things going on that people fail to see the good she’s always done.

    Kim Kardashian is coming to the end of her rope….her sell-by date is fast approaching and she is only trying to delay the inevitable….right now she is so out of touch with what is real that the feeble attempts are making her look lame……I hope she know the saying…..the more the monkey climb..the more he exposes his ass…….this girl is beyond redemption……but then again she lives in Utopia………

    This woman is not noted for her charitable endeavors. I’ve no doubt at all that the trip was to repair her image. It wasn’t planned until after the backlash after all. Having said that, Haiti is not a country you can go to and stay in the lap of luxury. I’m quite sure she did visit refugee areas, etc. while there. That’s a good thing regardless of her motivation. I am one of those that can’t stand her or her family, but I’ll also give credit where credit is due. She is at least doing something that may result in some good for someone to rehabilitate her image. Last time she wanted to rehabilitate her image, she turned to Playboy. This is a big improvement.

    If this is a representation of the struggles of the people of Haiti them they are doing quite well. All of the women are in full make up and hair and have beautiful clothing a jewelry.
    That is the problem with these celebs going to ravaged countries and only hob nobbing with the hoi polloi

    She is surrounded by the wealthy. Look at the young women in this photo…do they look like they live in tent city? I think not. The bottom line is…if you are doing something from the heart, if it is a true gesture of goodwill, why was there a need for cameras? there are also pictures of Oprah floating around in Haiti. She arrived 3 days after Kim and she has on Khakis, button down shirt, and boots. She is in the heart of tent city. She is down in the trenches with the people that truly have been affected.
