Kim Kardashian: I Thought My Career Was “Over” After Kris Humphries Split (VIDEO)
Kardashian and Humphries infamously had a lavish wedding in 2011, only to separate 72 days later. Their divorce was drawn out, however, for more than a year. The situation made the reality star the butt of jokes (at least more than she already was), and now Kardashian is confessing she actually thought she was done for in the public eye.
“At the time when I was going through the divorce I did say to everyone, ‘You guys, I think our careers are over. I hope you’ve saved your money. And now we’ll just continue to do our clothing stores and we started off doing before [Keeping Up with the Kardashians],'” she says in a new interview for The Drum. “I totally thought it was over.”
Kardashian goes on to say, “I was being very paranoid. I just took some time off, and the time was really good for me. I canceled everything. I had a book tour, I had a fragrance launch, I had everything that you could possibly imagine, and I just canceled it all and I took time for me.”
Of course, Kardashian’s career has only continued to grow since her break up with Humphries. In fact, Kardashian’s interviewer, advertising executive Sir Martin Sorrell, says she’s the “most famous person in the world” right now. The chat was conducted in France, while Kardashian was at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity to speak about her success with branding, social media, and more. Watch the full interview below.
