Kim Kardashian Baby No Longer Breech After Hospital Procedure
Kim Kardashian says her unborn baby is no longer breech after undergoing a hospital procedure.
As Gossip Cop reported, Kardashian revealed last week that her son was in a breech position and attempts to turn him around had failed. The expectant star said she was considering undergoing a “painful and scary” medical procedure in hopes of changing his position. On Tuesday, Kardashian announced that she indeed had the procedure, and it was a success.
“This weekend, I checked into the hospital and underwent a procedure called an ECV (External Cephalic Version, or a Version), which is done to manually turn the baby from a breech position to a head-down position,” she writes on her website. “They gave me an IV with medication to relax my uterus, and then three doctors attempted to work together to turn the baby.”
Kardashian notes, “There was a risk that my water might break or the baby’s heart rate could drop — in which case, an emergency C-section would then take place. I went in with my sisters and my husband. I was prepared for it all!” Thankfully, neither happened, but it was hardly an easy experience.
“They don’t give you any pain medication, and let me tell you: This was soooooo painful. Probably more painful than childbirth,” confesses Kardashian. “BUT it worked!!! My baby is in the right position and it feels so good to not have the stress of thinking I need a C-section.”
Kardashian, however, is still battling the flu and a sinus infection, as Gossip Cop reported on Monday. Combined with the difficulties of her pregnancy, the reality star shares North will be staying with Kourtney Kardashian for the next two days. “She loves sleepovers and I really need this time to get better,” she explains. “I haven’t been able to sleep and just need to catch up.”
Kardashian is determined to “fight through this and get better,” and while she isn’t due to give birth until later in December, she still may not carry to term. Gossip Cop will continue to have updates.
