Kim Kardashian on Australia’s Immigration ‘Watch List’
Kim Kardashian has reportedly been placed on Australia’s “Watch List.” The reality star is in hot water with the Australian Immigration Department for recently traveling there under a “tourist visa” when, in fact, she was there to work and promote her Kardashian Kollection handbags.
The highly publicized visit by Kardashian, who had just filed for divorce from Kris Humphries, did not go unnoticed by Australia’s Department of Immigration. The Daily Telegraph reports the government agency not only scrutinized her last visit, but also stays in 2007 and 2010, which were business trips to promote her show and a beer, but were facilitated under a tourist visa.
Suffice to say, now the Department of Immigration is keeping up with Kardashian’s future applications. While not addressing her specifically, the government agency told the paper, “People who enter Australia must abide by the conditions of their visa,” adding, “If people are undertaking work in Australia they need to be on an appropriate visa with work conditions attached.”
“If people do breach conditions of their visa, then the department can counsel them or cancel that person’s visa,” said the Immigration Department, noting, “Their history would then be taken into account if they apply for another visa to enter Australia… Such people are then put on to a Movement Alert List.” Silly Kim, let’s hope she does right by Australia next time.
