Kim Kardashian Did NOT “Announce Divorce” From Kanye West, Despite Report
The new issue of In Touch hit newsstands Wednesday touting “breaking news.” The magazine’s cover declares, “Kim Announces Divorce!” This is a lie, just like the many other times the outlet has lied about Kardashian and West supposedly splitting.
In the accompanying story, In Touch actually does a little bit of a bait-and-switch. Despite implying with its cover that Kardashian announced to the world that she and West are divorcing, the article says she only told Kris Jenner. “Kim announced to her mom, ‘I have to divorce Kanye,'” a so-called “insider” is conveniently quoted as saying. “It breaks her heart, but she doesn’t see any other way.”
In addition to West’s recent rants, the catalyst for the supposed breakup is said to be a “huge scene” he allegedly caused at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City on February 11, after which Kardashian “kicked him out.” Of course, no such thing was ever reported by a reputable outlet, but the tabloid’s source insists, “The NYC trip was the true nail in the coffin.”
The outlet even goes as far as claiming, “Divorce papers are being drawn up.” But that allegation, along with the statement that “Kim has made the decision to end her toxic marriage,” is a falsehood. The real “breaking news” here is that In Touch is wrong… again.
The magazine previously declared West and Kardashian’s marriage “over after 58 days” in the summer of 2014. Later that year, the gossip rag said she was filing divorce papers. Around this time last year, the outlet stated she was hiring a divorce lawyer.
It’s just lies on top of lies on top of lies. And In Touch thinks readers will fall for it this time, given West’s recent behavior. But despite the tabloid’s sensationalism, West and Kardashian are still united, as Gossip Cop has been reporting. There is NO divorce, and no divorce announcement, a rep exclusively confirms to Gossip Cop, calling the cover story “false.”
