Kim Kardashian NOT “45 Pounds Heavier Since Giving Birth,” Despite Report
Kim Kardashian is NOT “45 pounds heavier since giving birth,” despite a mean-spirited and flat-out wrong tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the report, which cruelly body-shames the mom of two.
The new issue of OK! hit newsstands on Wednesday blaring, “Kim 185 LBS & GAINING!” The cover, which claims Kardashian has gained 45 pounds since welcoming Saint last December, features an old photo from when she was on the slim side early in her pregnancy last year, along with a paparazzi snapshot taken last week. The magazine tries to showcase Kardashian in the most unflattering way possible, with the accompanying story declaring she’s having a “diet disaster.”
It’s alleged Kardashian was “forced” to go to New York City for husband Kanye West’s “Yeezy Season 3” event, even though she was supposedly “nowhere near ready to make her post baby-body debut.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “When she saw that her weight was still hovering near 200 pounds, she had a full-on meltdown.” The tipster even claims Kardashian’s reveal last month that she’s down 30 pounds is “fictional.”
Of course, OK! knows a lot about fiction. Over the years, Gossip Cop has busted the tabloid countless times for its tall tales, including a “dramatic delivery” cover story in November when the outlet tried to trick readers into thinking she had already given birth. And who can forget back in 2012 when the gossip rag did a cover making it seem like Kardashian was expecting twins?
OK! has some nerve accusing Kardashian of lying when telling lies itself. And these new claims don’t hold any weight. First off, Kardashian was 190 pounds when she delivered Saint in early December. If she was actually “45 pounds heavier since giving birth,” she would not be 185 pounds, as it’s claimed, now. Math aside, pictures of Kardashian are also telling.
There is no doubt she’s shed some of her excess weight over the last two and a half months, and if the reality was so embarrassed about her body, she wouldn’t be posting Instagram photos of herself, or stepping out in New York City for dinners and Broadway musicals. But whatever Kardashian’s weight, she (and any other star) certainly doesn’t deserve a tabloid sensationalizing it.
Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Kardashian, who exclusively tells us that the new cover story is all “false.” Frankly, we can’t decide which is worse: This one, or when OK! sister publication Star did a cover in December that tried to pass off an old bikini photo from 2013 to manipulate readers into thinking Kardashian had revealed “how I got my body back.”
