Khloe Kardashian On Interracial Marriage With Lamar Odom: It Was “Thrown In My Face” (VIDEO)
On Wednesday’s “Kocktails with Khloe,” Kardashian discussed racism and interracial marriage with guest Tia Mowry, who is half black and half white. “To be honest with you, a lot of people don’t want to believe that racism still exists,” the actress said. Kardashian agreed.
“I was in an interracial marriage. I would never think to have to say, ‘Oh, by the way, my husband’s black, so when he comes in, don’t let your jaw drop,'” she said. The reality star went on to recall, “When I moved to Dallas was the first time that was thrown in my face.”
Kardashian and Odom temporarily lived in Texas when he played for the Dallas Mavericks. Sister Kim Kardashian, of course, is also in an interracial marriage with Kanye West, and their kids North and Saint are biracial. But she says her nieces and nephews, which include Kourtney Kardashian’s three white children, don’t see any difference between them.
They look “like the United Nations, and I love that when they’re playing,” Kardashian said. She added, “Kids don’t know color. None of them would ever say, ‘You’re black or you’re white.'” Check out the segment below.
