Key & Peele Spoofs Richard Sherman and Marshawn Lynch Oscars Outrage (VIDEO)
A hilarious new “Key & Peele” video shows the comedic duo portraying Seattle Seahawks stars Richard Sherman and Marshawn Lynch, preparing for this week’s Super Bowl, expressing their frustrations over the recent Oscars nominations. Watch the video below!
The sketch plays off the two players’ infamous reputations: Sherman as a thoughtful but often combative lightning rod, and Lynch as an entertaining media adversary annoyed that he has to speak to the press. As the faux “Sherman” discusses his irritation with the Oscar snubbing of Selma director Ava DuVernay and the film Foxcatcher, the fake “Lynch” punctuates things with a soft-spoken interjection, “biscuits and gravy.”
Sherman is outraged abut some of the decisions by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and he feels the need to get his critiques off his chest. Lynch, whom Katy Perry parodied at her own Super Bowl press conference this week, mostly sticks to his statement about “biscuits and gravy.” But stay tuned for the end, when Lynch offers an unexpectedly specific criticism of Into the Woods. Watch the “Key & Peele” sketch in the video below, and tell us what you think!
