Kevin Spacey did NOT “boycott” Vanity Fair’s Oscar party out of loyalty to Gwyneth Paltrow, despite false reports from the New York Daily News and “The Gossip Table.”

Both outlets claimed on Tuesday that Spacey was a no-show at the star-studded affair because of Paltrow’s feud with the magazine, citing a “source” that alleges he and other stars were told to “consider another party instead.”

But that is 100 percent not true.

A rep for Spacey tells Gossip Cop exclusively that Spacey didn’t attend any Academy Awards after-party because following his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscars special, he had to directly return to Palm Springs for the launch of a Will Ferrell charity event that helps cancer survivors attend college.

“He cares about the kids who have survived cancer, and that is the reason he did not attend ANY of the post-Oscar parties, not even the one that his producing partner threw for Captain Phillips, a film he is extremely proud to be a part of that was nominated for six Academy Awards,” says Spacey’s rep.

She notes, “His sole priority that night after the show was to help the young students whose lives have been changed for the better through this charity.”

And, for the record, we’re told Spacey “wasn’t even aware of the issues that have been reported between Gwyneth Paltrow and Vanity Fair.”
