Kesha arrived to the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Friday for her hearing in her lawsuit against Dr. Luke, the singer’s former music producer who she alleges sexually assaulted her. The hearing will determine whether or not she will be released from her contract with Dr. Luke’s label at Sony, and many of the singer’s fans have gathered for a “Free Kesha” protest outside of the courthouse. See the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, Kesha filed a lawsuit against her longtime producer Dr. Luke nearly a year ago, alleging that he verbally, physically, and sexually abused her. She asked to be released from his Kemosabe Records label, so she would be free to create new music. Dr. Luke filed a countersuit, denying the allegations and claiming that Kesha and her mother, Pebe Sebert, were extorting him to get out of their contract.

Shortly before her hearing on Friday morning, Kesha tweeted, “Thank you for all the support in my legal case animals. i love all of you. it’s meant the world to me. xoxo.” She also posted an Instagram message, expressing, “I have nothing left to hide. I did this because the truth was eating away my soul and killing me from the inside. this is not just for me. this is for every woman, every human who has ever been abused. sexually. emotionally. mentally. I had to tell the truth. so the outcome will be what it will be. there’s nothing left I can do. it’s just so scary to have zero control in your fate. but this is my path this life for whatever reason.”

Kesha’s supporters rallied around the courthouse, holding up signs and chanting “Free Kesha now!” and demanded that Sony voluntarily allow her out of her contract. As she made he way into the building, the singer smiled and waved to her supporters. Watch the video below.
