Kerry Washington Teases Met Gala Appearance On “GMA” – WATCH VIDEO!
Kerry Washington teased her appearance at the 2016 Met Gala on Monday’s “Good Morning America.” Watch below!
Appearing on “GMA” just hours before the exclusive Costume Institute Gala kicks off at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Washington took a look back at her Met Ball looks from years past, calling it “a cool walk through time.” But will she top last year’s pink gown? “We’re gonna try,” she hinted.
Washington went on to say, “For me, this night is really strictly about fashion. A lot of other events — the Oscars are about filmmaking, the Emmys are about excellence in television — but this night is really about fashion as art and celebrating the Met and celebrating, you know, the history of great fashion and how it fits into our context of American art, international art.”
And though she wouldn’t give any more details about her outfit, Washington did have some advice: “You have to be able to touch your own lipstick and wear a dress you can eat in.” The actress’ sit-down coincided with “Melanoma Monday,” and she used the interview to also discuss her skin cancer awareness work with Neutrogena.
“There’s a lot of benefits to melanin. It’s very, very pretty. Brown girls rock, black girl rock,” Washington said. “But we still are at risk for skin cancer, so it’s really important to protect ourselves.” The star also gave some teases about this week’s “Scandal.” Check out the video below!
