Kerry Washington appeared on Wednesday’s “Good Morning America” to discuss the highly anticipated return of ABC’s “Scandal,” and took Michael Strahan on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the set. Watch the full “GMA” interview below!
The actress spoke to Strahan in a pre-taped segment for the morning show about the return of “Scandal,” but not before taking him on a behind-the-scenes tour of Sunset-Gower studios where the show is filmed. “So this is Sunset-Gower,” Washington noted, “Lots of famous movies have been shot here, and cool TV shows, ‘Scandal’ among them!” The actress then took Strahan to the set of the show, including the iconic Pope & Associates office. “If you enter into here, it means you’re in a lot of trouble, because you are a client of Pope & Associates!” Washington joked.
The actress went on to discuss how she filmed the first few episodes of the sixth season while heavily pregnant. “We shot five episodes before I gave birth, and the rest of them are after,” she noted. “[I stood] behind flowers, behind Prada purses, behind big coats and capes. You could play a really fun game of ‘find the bump!'” she said.
Washington also discussed her production company, Simpson Street. “We started with ‘Confirmation,’ which is a film I did with HBO. We’re developing products for television, drama and comedy films, and maybe some theater. It’s really exciting,” the actress noted.
