Kerry Washington is taking a break from social media, she announced on Tuesday.

“It’s time for me to take a teeny break from social media. Feeling called to be a bit more quiet and still,” the “Scandal” star wrote on instagram. “Not sure how long it’ll last but don’t worry, I’ll be back soon enough.”

Washington went on, “This space has become such a community. I’m very grateful. Thank you. I’ll be thinking of youz and I’m sending love to you wherever you are…” Accompanying the message was a short video showing ocean water washing away a heart drawn in the sand, after which someone (presumably Washington) walks away.

The actress’ announcement comes less than a week after the season finale of “Scandal.” With the show now on hiatus, there’s ostensibly less reason for Washington to be active on social media. She primarily uses her Twitter and Instagram accounts to promote the series and other projects, as well as to show off style choices and her adorable pooch Josie. But she almost never posts about husband Nnamdi Asomugha or 2-year-old daughter Isabelle.

Washington is notoriously private about marriage and parenting, so much so that she only confirmed her second pregnancy by attending the Met Gala earlier this month with a noticeable baby bump. Gossip Cop expects the Confirmation star to now spend the next few months nesting as it’s determined how “Scandal” will proceed now that the series’ leading lady is with child again.

It was actually officially confirmed not long after Washington’s Instagram post that the next season of “Scandal” will be delayed until 2017 for a midseason debut, but no plot details are known. Check out the star’s temporary goodbye below.
