‘Live’ Producers NOT “Terrified” Of Kelly Ripa Launching “On-Air Attack,” Despite Report
“Live with Kelly and Michael” producers are NOT “terrified” of Kelly Ripa launching an on-air attack against co-host Michael Strahan and ABC executives when she returns to the talk show on Tuesday, despite a false webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this story. We’re told it’s “not true.”
As Gossip Cop has reported, Ripa was blindsided last Tuesday by the news that Strahan would be leaving their show and joining “Good Morning America” in the fall. Shocked and hurt that she had been left in the dark about such a major development, Ripa bailed on the rest of the week’s shows.
But Ripa will return to the air for the first time on Tuesday to publicly address the situation. And now according to RadarOnline, some network executives are afraid of the host “sabotaging” her own show to get revenge. But the webloid actually took a similarly inaccurate report from the New York Post, which claims executives are worried Ripa will “go rogue on live TV,” and further sensationalized it to allege ABC’s top brass fears the TV host will launch an all-out “attack.”
Gossip Cop checked in with an insider at “Live,” who exclusively tells us there is zero concern about Ripa potentially throwing a hissy fit on TV. And while it’s still unclear exactly how the talk show host will handle the situation when she’s back in front of the cameras, she certainly won’t start a public spat. Furthermore, Strahan said on Monday’s “Live” that he and everyone else at the show are “excited” for Ripa to return.
