Kelly Clarkson Did NOT Lip Synch at Inauguration: Rep (VIDEO)

Kelly Clarkson did not lip-synch during her Inaugural Ceremony performance of “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” on Monday.

In the wake of the revelation that Beyonce decided at the last minute to sing the national anthem to a pre-recorded track, questions were raised about whether Clarkson’s own patriotic performance was lip-synched.

But a rep for the onetime “American Idol” winner says Clarkson sang live.

A spokesperson for the United States Marine Band also said on Tuesday that the band played their instruments live, contrary to some media reports.

Recording the ceremony’s music ahead of time is standard procedure, given the wide range of circumstances that could pose problems for performances during the program.

    You could tell hers was live, because (and not being negative) you could hear her making mistakes, going high & low, pitch was a little off, wasn’t quite w/ the music at times,etc. as it would be during a live performance. In a recorded session, it would or should be perfect. I think she did better than Beyonce, even before it was known that hers live and Beyonce sang over her own track. And BTW I have no problem w/ that, it’s standard procedure to sing over your own track @ events such is this. So, I don’t see what the big deal is about Beyonce lip syncing to her own voice. But in all honestly neither were phenomenal, they were adequate, but did better than I could’ve.

    We all know Kelly Clarkson can sing…Beyonce on the other hand…seems like it’s more of a team effort to make her sound good…personally, I sound like crap regardless of how many people back me up. lol

    it’s interesting what you say, but there are stars who existed before auto tune, pre recording tracks and lip synching. Unfortunately these new tools of the trade allowed people with little or no talent to become successful. Bring back real talent. I’m sure it still exists.

    Beyonce has proven she can sing.regardless and there’s video proof of that.

    Kelly did a beautiful job! The audio of her vocals on this clip is not great. ABC has a much better version.
