Kelly Clarkson has released “Heartbeat Song,” her first track since giving birth to daughter River Rose last year. In fact, the singer had previously teased the new tune by posting an adorable clip of River dancing to a snippet. Hear the song and see the video below!
Late Sunday, Clarkson tweeted, “Holy cow I didn’t even know my song would be up on iTunes already!! I just bought it haha! #heartbeatsong.” The upbeat, catchy anthem is the former “American Idol” winner’s first new music since 2013. It was written by Clarkson, Kara DioGuardi, Audra Mae and Jason Evigan.
The chorus goes, “This is my heartbeat song and I’m gonna play it / Been so long I forgot how to turn it up up up up all night / Oh up up all night long.” “Heartbeat Song” is the lead single from Clarkson’s upcoming seventh studio album, which she has described as “pop” influenced by genres ranging from country to R&B. Upon the release of the track, Clarkson posted a picture of River Rose at a control board, along with the caption, “My new producer #heartbeatsong.” See the pic below, along with the song itself and Clarkson’s cute video of her daughter.
