Kelly Clarkson Talks Children’s Book, Motherhood On “Today” Show (VIDEO)
Kelly Clarkson celebrated the release of her children’s book, River Rose And The Magical Lullaby, on the “Today” show on Tuesday. Check out the video below!
Savannah Guthrie deemed Clarkson an “accidental” author, prompting the superstar to explain, “I didn’t plan on it. I wrote them on a plane coming back from London. We had just gone all over the world. [Daughter River Rose] was like one. I was like, ‘She’s never going to remember this and her passport is already like stocked with stamps.'”
“So I started writing these little short stories for her and had these little pictures to go with it,” Clarkson revealed. “And all of a sudden, my husband and my nanny were like, ‘You should make these into children’s books.’ They have lullabies that go with each one.”
Now a mom of two, Clarkson joked about not having more kids, “Gone! I literally told [them] on the table, ‘You make sure this can’t happen again!'” But the star is working on a sequel in honor of her son, and has new music in the pipeline as well. She shared, “I feel like a new artist. It’s all like soulful and urban and edgy and fun. Just stuff I grew up singing.”
And with successfully juggling her career and motherhood, Clarkson said, “I’ve never felt more confident or more like a woman. The amount of things I accomplish in a day, I’m just going to say, it’s astonishing.” Watch the full interview below!
