Kelly Clarkson Covers Rihanna’s “B*tch Better Have My Money” (VIDEO)
Kelly Clarkson covered Rihanna’s new track “B*tch Better Have My Money” during her appearance at BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge on Thursday. Clarkson slowed down the racy song, edited out the curse words, and put a little jazzy spin on it with the help of two backup singers, a guitarist, and a pianist. See the video below.
In the original song, which will be included on Rihanna’s upcoming album R8, she repeatedly sings the line “b*tch better have my money,” but Clarkson changed it to “y’all better have my money.” She also swapped out the line “turn up to Rihanna while the whole club f*cking wasted” to “turn up to KC playing the whole club’s getting crazy.”
Clarkson, who released her seventh studio album Piece By Piece in February, also performed her songs “Invincible” and “Heartbeat Song” at the BBC Studios. The pop star is a huge fan of covering other artist’s songs. As Gossip Cop reported, in April she performed Etta James’ “At Last” on “American Idol” during an episode devoted to her. “At Last” was actually the first song Clarkson performed for the judges during her audition on “American Idol” when she won in 2002.
