Keira Knightley: Adam Levine Plays “D*ckhead” Very Well

Truth rating: 10

Keira Knightley dishes about married life, working with Adam Levine, and her yearly “salary” in the July issue of Glamour.

Knightley, who wed musician James Righton in 2013, admits she wasn’t always a fan of marriage.

“Actually my parents kept saying, ‘Why bother?'” she tells the magazine. “I think they only [got married] to get a mortgage,” she says laughing.

The actress explains,”When James proposed, I just thought, ‘Well, never done that before.’ It seemed like a fun thing to do.”

Although Knightley made it down the aisle, she has yet to change her last name to Righton.

“I went to do the passport thing. Cause I was thinking, ‘Shall I do it? It will be helpful,'” she says. “But you actually have to see it written down, and I found I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t go there. Yet.”

As for what makes married life different, Knightley says, “supposing something happens to your other half and you can’t get into the hospital without that legal paper? That’s what did it for me.”

“I’ve got married gay friends; that’s always been big for them,” she adds.

When asked about Levine’s acting debut in their film Begin Again, Knightley says, “He did play a d-ckhead very well.”

“Actually, I admire him being so willing,” she continues. “To play a d-ckhead is quite a big thing when you are trying to break into film and you want to be likable.”

Knightly also confirms that she did indeed allot herself a “salary” of only about $50,000 in 2012.

“I think living an [expensive] lifestyle means you can’t hang out with people who don’t live that lifestyle,” she explains. “It alienates you.”

Knightley notes that “some of my best, most hilarious times have been in the least luxurious places.”

What do you think of Knightley’s comments?
