Keeping Up With The Kardashians Recap

Keeping Up With The Kardashians” this week centered around Scott Disick not handling the pressures and responsibilities of being a father of three by turning to booze, and the entire family trying to get him into a better place. Episode 8, titled “Buggy Boo,” began with Disick drinking wine out of a bottle one afternoon at Khloe Kardashian’s home. Khloe then called Kourtney to say he was drunk at her home. And while Disick drunkenly asks Kourtney over speaker phone, “Can I come home?” Kourtney tells him straightforwardly that he’s not welcomed back in his “state of mind.”

Later, Disick goes to Aspen for a “wild weekend,” and when he returns, Kim asks how it went. Disick goes on to tell her is was a “debacle,” and that he just wants to “calm down.” Kim reminds him, “You have a baby,” and he acknowledges that it’s “super bizarre that [Kourtney’s] even speaking to me.” He then opens up that everyone feels “bad” for Kourtney, including him. He says, “Everything’s taken a turn,” but Kim reminds him that “you have such a good life,” with his three of the “most beautiful kids in the world.” Scott says it “sounds perfect, but it doesn’t feel good inside.”

Ultimately, Bruce Jenner is recruited to talk to Disick, but first the former Olympian takes Khloe and Disick dune buggy riding. When they were done speeding through the desert in dune buggies, Disick says, “I kind of needed this… breath of fresh air.”

Later, while eating dinner, Bruce tells Disick that while it’s good that Auntie Khloe is around, “It’s important that their dad’s around.” He adds one afternoon, “We kept looking for you, but you were out,” noting even “Kourtney didn’t know” where he was. Disick later confesses on camera, “I definitely go in and out of happy and dark places.” He says, “I wish it was easier for me to be under control.”

During the episode, viewers also get to see Kanye West shooting the music video for “Only One” with his and Kim’s daughter North (photo below). Notably, while West is seen briefly in the episode, he doesn’t utter a single word on the reality TV show.

Another subplot of the episode is that Kylie Jenner bought her first home. Kylie admits, “I hope I’m not in over my head,” after Kim and Khloe tell her about the types of home insurance she needs, including earthquake, flood, and fire insurance. They also tell her about certain fees she has to pay for electricity and to the Homeowners Association, as well as how she needs to do her own laundry, have a good gardner, and put up fencing to protect her dogs from rattlesnakes.

The talk clearly spooks Kylie because she then calls Kris Jenner, saying she was nervous about buying the house. Her mom assures her it was a good idea for her to learn how to live on her own, as well as a great investment.

Episode 8 of season 10 ended with Disick heeding Bruce’s advice about fatherhood, and saying he’s going to do everything he can to be home more and become a better dad. What did you think of this week’s episode?
