‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ Recap: Kim Gets Surgery To Have Third Baby
Kim Kardashian got surgery on her uterus to help her get pregnant with a third baby on Sunday’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Get the full episode recap below!
While playing with daughter North West, Kim asked her sister Kourtney, “Is North not the cutest? I feel like I have to have one more girl just like her.” She added in a confessional, “Kanye and I have always talked about having more kids, but after what I went through in Paris, the urgency is even greater. Being a stay at home mom has been so refreshing and I’d love nothing more than to expand my family.”
But on one of last season’s episodes, a fertility specialist told Kim to consider using a surrogate to have a third child because her body might not be able to sustain another pregnancy, and it would be “very risky” to try again. During dinner with the family, Kim announced to the table, “I have to go in and repair my uterus because I decided I’m going to try to have one more baby. Isn’t that exciting?” However, everyone was more concerned for Kim’s health. “Oh my god, I thought you were for sure done,” Kendall Jenner said, while Kris’s boyfriend Corey Gamble added, “I don’t want you to, like, do anything risky.”
Khloe then asked, “What surgery are we having?” “I have to have a surgery on my uterus to kind of repair this hole, so they need to like clean that out and then there’s scar tissue,” Kim explained. “It will still be a really high-risk pregnancy, just you’d be able to get pregnant.” But Khloe wondered, “So, why do you want to do it again?” Kim noted in a confessional, Having more kids is definitely going to be a struggle. I’ve gone through so much with really bad deliveries that the doctors don’t feel like it’s safe for me to conceive again myself. This surgery is really the one last thing I can try.” She added, “I want my kids to have siblings and I want to know that I did everything I could to make this happen.”
The next morning at breakfast, Rob told his mom Kris and sisters Kim and Khloe about his plan to lose weight. He became annoyed, however, when the girls began overwhelming him with instructions about how to diet and exercise. “Don’t you want to be around a long time for your daughter?” Khloe asked. Rob then noted in a confessional, ” When my mom and my sisters gang up on me, it doesn’t really motivate me. It pushes me away.” As the girls continued questioning Rob about losing weight, he angrily got up from the table, saying, “I can’t f**king talk about this right now.”
Ahead of the launch of her Good American denim brand, Khloe revealed to Kourtney that she was worried about the success of her fashion line. Her business partner, Emma Grede, explained that they need to sell 150,000 pairs of jeans in three months, but Khloe wasn’t sure they could reach the goal. “Now, I’m nervous that I’m not going to make my investors and my business partner happy,” she said. “I have so much anxiety.”
Khloe went on to note that the number of jeans they needed to sell has “never happened in denim history,” but Kourtney assured her sister, “Well, you’re going to make denim history.” “I feel so nervous,” Khloe responded. “Kylie [Jenner] sells hundreds of thousands of units in like, what? Three minutes?” Khloe continued in a confessional, “I know we’re not necessarily competing against each other, but still, I have always been known as the fat sister and now that I’m over that, I don’t want to be known as the failing sister.” But it turned out that Khloe had nothing to worry about, as the sales for her jeans were “astronomical.”
Later, Kris went to visit Kim as she recovered from her uterus surgery. “I definitely am in pain, but if the end result is that I get to carry my baby, it’s all worth it,” Kim said in a confessional. “I’m sorry you’re in so much pain,” Kris told her daughter, who responded, “I think that after everything, there’s nothing that makes me more happy than being with my kids.” Kris assured her, “I’m proud of you because you’re so strong,” but went on to express concern about the “trauma to your body and emotional stress.” She added, I’m just not sure that it’s worth it. I don’t want you to do something that would put you in great danger.” But Kim insisted, “Hopefully this is successful.”
But when Kim later got back results from a fertility test, she told her friend Jonathan Cheban that the doctor informed her, “For sure now, you should not carry another baby.” She said in a confessional, “Not only has this been really painful, but now hearing that I shouldn’t carry any more kids, it couldn’t be worse.” Kim further told her friend, “I had a full breakdown. I just, like, give up.” As the episode ended, Kim also told her sisters that the surgery was unsuccessful, and revealed that she and Kanye were looking into other options to have another baby, including surrogacy. “Whatever is meant to be will be,” she concluded.
