‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ Recap: Kim Cries Over Kanye West Hospitalization
On Sunday’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian received the upsetting news that her husband Kanye West had been hospitalized following a nervous breakdown. Get the full episode recap below.
Early in the show, Kim made her first public appearance following her Paris robbery at West’s Saint Pablo Tour concert in Los Angeles. Later, the family went out to dinner for Kendall Jenner’s birthday, but Khloe was hesitant to sit next to Caitlyn because the two haven’t been getting along since her breakup from Kris. Caitlyn called Kris the next day and said she felt badly that Khloe was no longer in her life, but the momager tried to explain that her daughter was dealing with her own issues. When Kris asked Khloe if she would consider sitting down with Caitlyn to talk about their issues, Khloe said she didn’t particularly want to, but would meet Caitlyn to make her mom happy.
Caitlyn eventually visited Khloe at her house to try and mend their relationship. “I just really feel like over the last year and a half that we certainly have grown apart,” the former Olympian told Khloe. “Nobody calls, nobody checks in. Just, ‘Hey, how are you doing?’ You can’t help but sit there and think, ‘OK, is it because I transitioned? They don’t like me anymore?’ I want to know what I did wrong.” Khloe responded, “I don’t necessarily want to say you did anything wrong… This family, we deal with things very quickly. We don’t have time to really process a lot of things because we’re always on to the next and for me, at the time, I just wasn’t at a place in my life where I really could invest in new relationships.”
Khloe went on to reference Caitlyn’s negative comments about Kris in her 2015 Vanity Fair cover interview, saying, “It was very hard for me to experience a lot of new things so quickly and still feeling like I have to protect my mom… But then I was also like, this isn’t even my fight to fight anymore. I have my own sh*t to deal with, so why don’t you guys figure that stuff out.” She added, “But I don’t think Caitlyn is a bad person at all.” Caitlyn said she understood that Khloe was dealing with her own problems at that time, but added, “That’s 23 years of my life invested in the family and you. Being there when you have good days and bad days and all the things you go through when you’re growing up.”
Khloe admitted, “For me, you’re all I remember, Bruce was. So not having you in my life, it’s a huge blow because I’m like OK, my second dad, this guy that I’ve grown up with that raised me, was taken away from me.” “You’re feelings are important,” Caitlyn assured Khloe, who told her, “I’m getting to re-know you again. Your personality is different.” Caitlyn added, “I just want you to know from my perspective how important our relationship is,” and the two agreed to work on their relationship going forward.
After returning home from a family vacation to Mexico with Kourtney and the kids, Scott Disick opened up to Kim and Khloe about where he and Kourtney stand in their relationship. He admitted to kissing her goodnight, but said she didn’t reciprocate the gesture. Khloe then asked, “Did your sausage like move in your pants a little ’cause it got excited?” Disick said, “I’m still like turned on by her, if that’s what you’re asking.” Khloe went on to ask if he’s currently dating other women, but Disick said he wasn’t, adding, “I mean, I technically could I guess, but I just don’t feel comfortable.”
Kim then jumped in and asked if he was “getting over” Kourtney, but Disick confessed, “No, I feel like I will never be over her. She’s the love of my life, but I just try to do everything to be there for her, but there’s literally no appreciation for anything ever.” He added in a confessional, “I definitely realize that a lot of things truly are my fault and I’m happy taking ownership for all that. I just hope that one day she understands that I would never want to be with anybody but her.”
Later, Kim told Khloe that she was concerned because she heard that West “just walked off stage last night” during the middle of a concert, further noting in a confessional that the rapper had “performed a few songs and left early.” Sometime later, Kim got a phone call from one of West’s friends about his hospitalization and she immediately began crying. “Why, what’s going on?” she said. “Don’t scare me please, what’s going on?” Kim continued hysterically crying as she added, “Like, I can’t.” From there, the screen cut to black and a title card read, “To be continued…”
