“Keeping Up With The Kardashians” Recap: Kim And Khloe Kardashian Visit Armenia
As Gossip Cop reported, the E! reality show aired its midseason finale in May, but the series returned on Sunday to kick off four special new episodes in which the Kardashian sisters visit Armenia, the nation of which their late father Robert was a descendant.
The new episode, titled “Mother Armenia,” saw Kim and Khloe visiting Armenia on the 100-year anniversary of the Armenian genocide, a historical event that their father always wanted the girls to be familiar with. Kim’s husband Kanye West and daughter North tagged along for the big trip.
During the vacation, Kim opened up about the difficulty she’s been having getting pregnant with a second child, noting the “little operations” she’s had on her uterus to improve her chances of conceiving. “I was so close to giving up and that’s when it happened,” she revealed. Khloe is the first person Kim tells about her pregnancy, aside from North, who she said probably didn’t understand.
Khloe was very excited about the big news, but also explained, “You know how I get when my sisters are pregnant. I’m very protective.” Khloe went on to joke to Kim, “I really thrived when you were fat and pregnant. They compared you to a whale. It was the first time I was ever, like, ‘the thin one.’” In a more earnest on-camera confessional, however, Khloe said, “I’m just happy that my sister’s pregnant. I’m just really excited. I want there to be more kids.” Kim further said in her own confessional, “I don’t take it for granted, the fact that this is like a miracle that’s happened. I just feel so blessed to be pregnant again.”
Back in Los Angeles, Kris Jenner and Kourtney expressed that they were concerned about Kylie as she’s been standoffish lately. Kourtney sat down with her younger half-sister to ask, “What is the day in the life of Kylie Jenner like?” But Kylie claimed, “I have such a boring life right now.”
Kim, Khloe and Kanye went to an Armenian art school to learn about the nation’s culture and music. A group of students played music for Kanye, to which he assured them, “sounds dope.” Kim and Khloe later had lunch with a genealogy expert to find out who their great ancestors were, and managed to find the house where the sisters’ great great grandparents lived. Kim later told her mom Kris via a facetime call that she was pregnant, leaving Kris in happy tears over “the great news.”
In LA, Kylie and Kourtney had a heart-to-heart about how she was coping with Caitlyn Jenner’s transition. Kourtney admitted that she’d “never met Caitlyn,” to which Kylie responded, “Really? I love Caitlyn.”
Kim and Khloe got into an argument when the latter admitted to wanting to call ex-husband Lamar Odom to “check on him,” adding, “I wanted to make sure he’s okay. Can’t I do that?” Kim didn’t want her sister to contact Odom, because, “You just deserve so much better,” she told her. But Khloe tried to explain, “I’m still his friend, no matter what, and I care to see if he’s alive for the day. I can’t do that?”
Things got a bit heated when Khloe fired back at Kim,“I don’t ever come at you about all your trifling sh*t you used to do until you got married. So, take a chill pill, slore.” She further revealed in a confessional, “Lamar and I loved each other deeply, and I don’t believe in just acting like that relationship never existed. Things happened, but it doesn’t just stop me from caring about him or loving him. So, if I feel the need to check out Lamar, that’s my prerogative, and I’m gonna do it.”
The episode ended with Kim, Khloe and Kanye visiting a memorial for the Armenian genocide, and Kim revealing in a confessional that she’s “proud to bring awareness to the issues,” and that one day, “America will recognize it.”
