Katy Perry Confirms “Crazy” Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance With New Promo – WATCH VIDEO!
Katy Perry’s 2015 Super Bowl XLIX Halftime performance promo debuted on Sunday following the NFL’s official confirmation that the singer would be headlining the show on February 1.
After months of speculation, Bob Costas announced the news during halftime at the Cowboys-Giants game on Sunday Night Football, and the NFL later tweeted the confirmation. Perry also took to Twitter to share her excitement, writing, “My band is in the other room screaming at the TV (and each other) over this Cowboys-Giants game. Can’t wait for February 1st.”
In the sneak peak promo called “Hyped For Halftime,” Perry gives viewers a tour of her halftime show “testing facility” and shares her “insane ideas” for her upcoming performance. “Like what if we covered the whole stadium in glitter, but the glitter was edible?” she says. But not everything is going as planned. Perry ordered a Pegasus online only to be sent a unicorn instead. The star is also considering being wrapped in bacon and having 1,000 adorable kittens join her on stage. “This halftime show is going to be crazy,” she notes. “I’ve got my time machine to bring in my very special guest.”
Perry joins the ranks of past Super Bowl performers, including Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2. The Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show at University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona will air on NBC on February 1. Check out the promo below, and tell us what you think! Note: Video no longer available.
